Cumnock four home games in seven days

Cumnock have four home games on the trot to be played in the space of seven days at Lugar. I have never heard of a club getting four home games in seven days. That only leaves Cumnock with four home league games in the last eight weeks of the season

I'm presuming you mean Sat, Mon, Wed, Sat ???? If so that's 8 days.

I'm sure the fixtures have been done this way as Cumnock are using someone else's park. The weather has been crazy this year so you might not get all the games played. Also don't see how playing 3 games a week is a problem. Any player would rather play a game than train.

One minute people are moaning about games being off now we are moaning about then being on. You should be excited about your games. It could be worse, could be 4 away games.

Have you read the post properly Cumnock have only four home fixtures left. It is four games in eight days Wed to Wed . You obviously do not have a clue about the work to get a park ready every two days

We're playing at home on the 20th, 23rd, 25th and 27th - I've also heard we've got another one at home on the 30th that's not been announced yet.

Of course it's a lot of work getting a park ready for games following on from each other so quickly, but that's part and parcel of being involved with a club at this time of year. I'll be doing five match programmes for my club in the space of 11 days, but them's the breaks and I'll just get on with it...

Sat 16 April 1400, league, Rutherglen Glencairn v Cumnock

Wed 20 April 1845, Ayrshire Weekly Press cup R2, Cumnock v Ardrossan Winton Rovers

Sat 23 April 1400, West Of Scotland Cup R3, Cumnock v Irvine Meadow

Mon 25 April 1845, league, Cumnock v Ardrossan Winton Rovers

Wed 27 April 1845, league, Cumnock v Kilwinning Rangers

Two of the "four in 7 (or 8 ) days" are in different cups. It's the way-round that they were drawn and with both being at pre-QFs stage, they have to be got on with.

So in the league, Cumnock's upcoming sequence is A, H, H. Nothing so unusual about that.

Whilst "only four home league games left" beyond that is a correct statement, there's more Cumnock games left than that to squeeze into the remaining weeks of the season, and there could be further Home fixtures (in the cups / playoffs).

So Sat-Mon-Wed-Sat is not unexpected at this stage.

Fixtures are declared up to Wed 27th April. Beyond that, Cumnock have / could have :

- a further 4 home league games TBA.

- a further 6 away league games TBA.

- if Cumnock progress in the WoS Cup they would be Home in the QFs and SFs (or are the SFs at neutral venues?).

- in the AWP they would be Away in the QFs then Home in the SFs (again, unless neutral?).

- and they could finish third and therefore be in the H&A promotion playoff.

- or could win the division and be in the Evening Times Cup, yielding further fixture(s).

So if the revamped Townhead Park is indeed ready for occupancy "in mid May", there'll probably still be some Home games left to be played there this season.

Mid April, and Cumnock are only half way through the season !

What part have I miss read ? You never mentioned you were a grounds man or anything about the park.

They might have more if they win their cup games.

Everyone has their own problems. Deal with it the best you can.

Thanks very much. Would it not have been nice if Cumnock had been given one away game in between considering Lugar will also be playing at home?

I think it was 5 years ago when Ladeside looked odds-on for relegation, he gave us 4 home league games in 8 days in the last week of April (Sat, Mon, Wed, Sat) against Rob Roy, Pollok, Talbot and Cumnock. We won all 4 to escape comfortably. We are now facing 4 home league games in 12 days from Saturday - can't see us winning all 4 this time given our current form, but we need to put some points on the board.

sweep are you forgetting the money lugar will make from these 4 games and the stuff Cumnock have gifted to your club. you seem to be the only one moaning about Cumnock being there ,your club has made a pretty packet out of them being there since your club were on their knees this time last season.

I am pretty sure mr saunderson will be assisting on getting the park ready for these games as well as your own groundsman who has done a superb job in getting the park ready all thro the winter.

I am the groundsman. That is the problem. I have no problem with Cumnock using the park but perhaps a little better organisation of the fixtures would be in order. As it stands after these games Cumnock will have four games left at home. They will have eight weeks to play four games home games. It is absolutely ludicrious to give them four games at Lugar in such a short space of time. Mr Sanderson lines the park for the Cumnock games and if the grass is long and Lugar have problems with their cutter Jocky cuts it for which he gets paid. Can you explain what is the pretty packet that Lugar have made? This is not about Cumnock being there. I welcome Cumnock with open arms .This is about restoring sanity to the fixtures. Please look at the situation properly

only 4 home games to play but( and a big but )win these games we could potentially be at home in other games as well but hopefully be back home at townhead  by that point.

i can see where you are coming from regarding getting the park prepared but i think we all knew that this issue would arise at some point over the season.

look at the guys who look after clydebank/yokers park ,it's played on every week and sometimes 4 times in 8 days.

You are still missing the point. There is adequate time for to have only played two in that time space. After the morn Lugar have only two home games left. Cumnock would have six . Without Townhead being ready Cumnock could still have easily finished the season at Lugar even with two additional games

Saturday 17th April 2010 you beat Pollok 2v1.

You would think with Cumnocks pitch being so near to completion they would hold back a bit so early with home fixtures so they could have as many as possible at their own home. Problem could be that a couple heavy downpours could make Lugar unplayable for a few games with them being so many so close. Kilbirnie has 3 home Sat Mon Wed and pitch is not at its best just now as it is hoping there's no rain in between games.

Yes the normal thinking person would consider  the statistics. Why have Cumnock been given four home ties when there is absolutely no need for it?

Sweep, you guys kicked the future of your club out of Rosebank to accommodate Cumnock, ie; the under 14 side who going by the Chronicle have just lifted 2 trophies in a week, missed the boat there champ

I have no say in the running of the club . I am just the donkey HE HAW, HE HAW
