HibeeJibee
With remaining EOSL games confirmed, and just over 5 weeks left, LTHV are 19pts behind Leith... but have 5 games in hand and are still to host them at Saughton. Much at stake including the title itself and sought-after Scottish Cup qualification. Exciting stuff. Predictions? http://www.eosfl.com/matches.asp?ResultsFixtures=fixtures Leith Athletic P21 ... 54pts, +59 Wed 13 Apr Eyemouth (A) Sat 16 Apr Duns (A) KC R2 Tue 19 Apr Heriot-Watt (H) Sun 24 Apr Spartans EOS (N) LC Fin Wed 27 Apr Stir Uni EOS (A) Sat 30 Apr Burntisland (A) (or KC SF) Sat 07 May Coldstream (A) Sat 14 May Tynecastle (A) Fri 20 May Lothian THV (A) Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale P16 ... 35pts, +20 Wed 13 Apr Ormiston (A) Sat 16 Apr Spartans EOS (H) Wed 20 Apr Duns (A) Sat 23 Apr Eyemouth (A) Wed 27 Apr Eyemouth (H) Sat 30 Apr Peeb/Hawick (A) KC SF Mon 02 May Peebles (A) Wed 04 May Stir Uni EOS (H) Sat 07 May Tynecastle (A) Wed 11 May Hawick (A) Sat 14 May Civil SS (A) Tue 17 May Coldstream (A) Fri 20 May Leith (H)

HibeeJibee
There are virtually no criteria for qualifiers - it's little more than a rope about the park, a reasonable pavilion, safe access and spectator areas. Some of the North Junior champions have had pretty limited grounds, as did various SFA members until recently such as Coldstream, Civil Service, D&G clubs etc. Even then qualifiers can find an alternative if failing even those basic criteria... Crichton (SOSL winner 2007-08) and Harestanes (Amateur Cup winner 2014-15) have playing fields so registered alternative parks, in Harestanes case not even an SFA member. LTHV used Spartans from R3 this season.
tynie1874
Would imagine erecting a temporary stand for a big money spinner would be worthwhile if you really wanted to play at home rather than rent the likes of Spartans etc. I do believe Leith can't be involved in the pyramid system due to license? Nightmare given they are a good side.
surely not!
Would imagine erecting a temporary stand for a big money spinner would be worthwhile if you really wanted to play at home rather than rent the likes of Spartans etc. I do believe Leith can't be involved in the pyramid system due to license? Nightmare given they are a good side. They are but they seem to have made no progress towards licensing at all. Indeed they knew that scottish cup entry would require it for years but seem happier winning the alex Jack cup against three other teams. BSC Glasgow had no ground and no adult team and managed to get licensed and play in the scottish cup in the space of 12 months- what are leith looking to do? Are there plans to move the club forward? I'd also add that they'd have to win a good few games to get to the sort of match that would require a temp stand. I know LTHV nearly managed it but they have a side better suited to winning games at that level IMO

rigano
I think Leith will win league. Lthv have very heavy schedule of tough games.
calmac25
If Leith were close to being licenced and were only let down by their ground surely they would just be asking the council to play on the big pitch as it seems to be kept in good condition. rigano
Lthv drew 2-2 at duns so suspect it's over.

tamthebam
It is now F*ck off Wolstenholme! I dare say if they were to ask really, really nicely Leith could use the big grassy pitch with the stand next to their little square of plastic for any big Scottish Cup games... HibeeJibee
It is certainly harder for LTHV now, as the gargantuan chasm in Goal Difference - they have +28 compared to Leith's +66 - means they'll need Leith to drop points twice as well as win all their remaining games. However it's all away games for Leith now, including v Tynecastle. HibeeJibee
Startling. LTHV back to needing to win their games and see 1 slip-up from Leith. As proof that form and momentum can be among the most important factors in getting results, LTHV had to play Sat-Mon-Wed this week... ... and in the space of 5 days successfully won 5-2 away, 7-1 away and 10-1 at home, closed up 9pts on Leith and cutting the GD gap by almost half. rigano
9 behind with 2 games in hand. Would title be decided on goal difference?
HibeeJibee
Yes. Happened last season of course. Remains an exceedingly tall order for LTHV to overhaul 22 goal deficit, then again at 2:30pm on Saturday it was 41.
whatasaw
9 behind with 2 games in hand. Would title be decided on goal difference? Correct as HJ says Leiths bottle went last season and I expect the same again with LTHV beating Leith in the last game for the title Then most of all the LTHV players go to Whitehill again lol
theref
Correct as HJ says Leiths bottle went last season and I expect the same again with LTHV beating Leith in the last game for the title Then most of all the LTHV players go to Whitehill again lol Have seen quite a few games for lthv ,Leith .strollers, ww , Spartans mostly this season There are certainly players that could step up WW could really use Gormley up front but I doubt he would go back to ww again not sure any other lthv players would improve the WW team as its a centre forward WW are desperate for Murphy for Leith is a stand out and wasted at Leith and yes I agree LTHV to pip Leith
