Hampden Diehard
Anyone else would be lapping up the prospect of four home games out of the next five....but maybe not us! We're toiling a bit at home....however, the good thing is that we do well against the better sides whilst bombing against the strugglers. That should mean a home win for your favourites. Who will be leading the line? I reckon it could be Duggan again, with Mackay coming on later. I'm really keen to see the latter as he always impressed me before. City weren't that great earlier in the season. Hopefully that continues tomorrow.. Get in there early, kids - rumour is that there will be a minute's applause for Harry the Hoopo's head. afca32
I have Queens Park as favourites for the title so a point would be satisfactory given City's away record this season.
QPSAFalkirkFirm
Can't remember the last time we had three strikers to choose from. Quite the luxury but in reality none of them currently have a scoring run but surely something must break soon. Might even have the capability to play two at home now. The players, like the fans, must be frustrated at our inability to convert control into points but we know our guys give it all so let's get right behind them today. Really admire the way Elgin have made their ground a fortress and if we could even get close to that for the rest of the season we'd be well in the running. Ever the optimist; 2-0 for The QP. A minute's applause for Harry is surely premature. I have faith in Glasgow's humanity and expect the absent head to be 'found'.

TransilvanianSpider
Nobody got any thoughts on the game for someone who was not there? It was cold. Elgin had slightly more chances. Queens dominated though didnt really look like scoring apart from two chances they had. Queens went a bit mad with 4 4 2 at home. Guess we only do that for teams top of the league. Very good result for Elgin. At least Queens didn't lose. Would be a massive worry if we lost this with a number of home games in a row coming up. Some quality chants from the young Elgin fans. Made another nil nil at home just that little more exciting.
QPSAFalkirkFirm
Queen's were sharply out the blocks and a settling early goal would have led to a comfortable win. True to type however, we largely dominated the first half and withered away in the second. Neither team had any notable attempts on goal. The stats say we had two on target; I recall a header from McLeish, well saved, and the other must have been technically on target but insignificant. Elgin threatened occasionally without any real intent. Elgin packed the defence from the go and relied on breakaways. They look dangerous on the latter and move the ball directly up the park with pace. On several attacks our defence lost it's shape but recovered in numbers to do the necessary. Elgin helped by losing possession with sloppy passing. Queen's, in sharp contrast to the lively and forward-facing Elgin midfield, continue to play the gentlemanly game of touching the ball four or five times before safely passing sideways thus allowing our opponents every opportunity to get back goalside of the ball. There's no doubt Gus set out an attacking formation but until they actually attack I fear our Saturday's will bring further disappointment. The speed and adventure in the opening 15 minutes was much better but needs to become the tactical norm, not just a special effort. One final observations for any petulant, moody players who might be reading; when your coach subs you, get off the pitch asap and let the game stay alive. Especially when you are the home team and battling to win 3 points. A huffy stroll from the far side of the pitch does nothing but allow your opponent some respite as well as running down the clock. Hampden Diehard
We started off really well, but (again) we failed to carve out really good chances. Galt did well on two or three occasions, but made the wrong decision each time. Very frustrating. We missed Vinny Berry soooo much; a guy to hang onto the ball and play a simple pass. It was one of those days when we didn't seem to be able to do the simple things well...bad first touch, not finding our men. Then again, I watched MOTD and some of the teams at the erse end of the English Premiership have the same problem, so that puts it into perspective. Elgin came for a draw and got it. It was cold, frustrating and 90 minutes of Bieber bantz from the Elgin kiddies drove me to drink later on.
harry94
Any thoughts on Sam Dryden (Elgin number 2) at right back? It was his first senior match and he's had a good season for our under 20s so just curious as to how he got on. Anyone take note of him at all? CathcartSkins
No really; far too much time wasting from early on the first half. And we never really created too much either.

Thom & Gerry
One of my mates at the game thought Dryden looked a decent player. Said he got exposed a bit in second half through lack of cover.
weejimmy48
Watching Gus post match Elgin interview was surprised to hear him say they were playing too many long balls. Given his formation 2 up it was begging for long balls into the channels I think he forgets that the best results and goal scoring opportunities and excitement were when Ralston was bombing down the wing and was hit with diagonal balls ( proper pinged balls with momentum not floaters) . We need a plan B teams have sussed out our play when 1 up and unless a midfielder is prepared to get beyond the front man the opposition have eventually time to get behind the ball and we start again. You don't lose many with this possession no risk approach however the wins are fewer. Let's hope we are more adventurous against East Stirling.
