Since the Czech game has its own thread...

GS will be splitting the squad over the two matches so will be interesting to see how many new faces are on show. Of course injuries will play their part but a good test as we start to build for the World Cup qualifiers.

Any idea if this will definitely be at Hampden?

Would probably be a good one to take somewhere else. Would they realistically fill Hampden for a Tuesday night friendly? I imagine it might be an Easter Road job, or maybe they'll even take it further North for a change. I might end up going, but would be nowhere near against them taking it to somewhere new

We played them in a midweek friendly at Hampden about 6 years ago. From what I remember it was a shocking affair in the pishing rain. There must've been less than 20K there.

Went to that game, 2-1 win. Soaked through and we were only walking from the Asda car park just next to Hampden.

Think it was 17500

There have been quite a few friendlies away from Hampden recently.

Would imagine it be played Hampden.

From STV:

Scotland will play Czech Republic and Denmark in March friendlies with Gordon Strachan naming separate squads for games just five days apart.
The game against Czech Republic, at an away venue yet to be determined, will take place on March 24, with Scotland hosting Denmark on March 29.
National team manager Strachan has opted to select separate squads in order to give players maximum game time as he aims to find his best blend of players ahead of World Cup 2018 qualification, which begins in September.
"It's important that we use these two matches effectively and give opportunities to those who may not have had as many as they would have liked in the previous campaign," Strachan said.
"It also allows us the flexibility to take a look at some players who are emerging.
"We would all rather be using these matches to prepare for the Euros this summer but we need to get over that disappointment collectively - coaches, players and supporters - and the best way to do that is to get together again and start planning for the World Cup qualifiers."
Scotland will also play further friendlies in May and June, with the opposition likely to be teams preparing for Euro 2016.

Very chuffed with that two squad approach. At least if certain players show nothing it'll silence the calls for their future inclusion (the likes of Mackay-Steven, Armstrong, Rhodes, Griffiths, McCormack etc), but maybe one or two will put in a barnstorming performance and force their way into the 'first pick' category.

Also, hopefully this approach (knowing they're effectively auditioning for a go at the next campaign) will mean we get two meaningful, high-tempo games.

The SFA email today said Hampden ...

Scotland will begin preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers with a double-header against Czech Republic and Denmark in March.

Gordon Strachan and his squad will travel to Prague (venue TBC) for an international challenge match against Czech Republic on Thursday 24 March, before hosting Denmark at Hampden Park on Tuesday 29 March.

I want to see more of James McArthur, playing great in a very good Palace team. I'd go as far as saying he's currently our best CM. He's got a bit of everything to his game.

Get him in the team.

Only in Scotland would we be wanting to see more of a player who is 29 this year
