Seen the light
Surely junior teams arent playing on those two dates. That would mean asking your players not to have a drink on Xmas day ?.
jimbaxters
Surely junior teams arent playing on those two dates. That would mean asking your players not to have a drink on Xmas day ?. Correct. Let the lads have time with the family for a couple of weeks.
HTG
I think we spoke about this before but it would be great if a few clubs felt able to play on the holiday Mondays.

Hertha/BJFC1938
It's a great time for games ; what about all the guys who come back to visit their family and friends once a year during the festivities and haven't saw their club playing for a good while. Them guys would love to see their team playing and also it gets us out the house for some fresh air, this isn't a Sunday league kick about it's semi professional football here. Only in scotland do you hear this stuff cited , you can have a drink anytime .
Wile E Coyote
Don't know how I feel about possible games on thoses dates. If it was a home game I would probably go but I don't think I would bother going if it was an away game. With the weather at that time of year they will probably be postponed anyway
fan of the juniors
meadow v kilbirnie 2nd jan.Where you hear this?Know we have requested a game but nothing confirmed so far
HibeeJibee
Agreed. Games on Boxing Day/New Year's Day/January 2nd often get bumper crowds. Ultimately it's semi-professional football, not amateur. HL & LL usually play right through.

Junior_Arab
Only in scotland do you hear this stuff cited , you can have a drink anytime . Well, to be fair, maybe you won't hear it in any other countries (except England) because no other countries even contemplate having fixtures at that time of year.
