Albion Rovers vs. Greenock Morton

No thread for this one? Thought both sets of fans would be right up for this...

Will be a tough game for us as Rovers are doing better than expected in League 1, but we should be winning this against lower league opposition (no offence!). Will be close though, going for 2-1 Morton.

Expect to see Alex Samuel starting this game as Stef is suspended. Rovers goalscorer against the Pars, Josh Mullins, will also miss out due to suspension.

They have only lost 5 goals in 6 league games at home so they won't be a pushover.

The only other change I'd like to see is Miller in for O'Ware.

Important we get through this. There is a good feeling about the club right now and we don't want that ruined with a shock cup exit.

Tricky but I fancy us by a couple.

Can Luca play? If not, move oware back and bring Miller in.

0-2.

Potential banana skin here. Rovers look a decent enough League 1 outfit so I'm not anticipating an easy game.

Would like to see McKee & Scullion brought in for this but suspect it'll be near enough the same lineup as Friday.

Was suspended. But out of favour in any case. I noticed Derek Gaston has been missing from the Morton team - nothing serious, I hope?

He's injured, no idea when he's actually due back though, preferably rather soon.

Who had "blame the pitch" in the tea lady's list of pre-emptive excuses? It's always a vintage effort whenever the club faces the horror of having to play away in a cup competition. I wouldn't be surprised with a draw followed by a fairly comfortable win in a replay.

Christ, The Human Sneer strikes yet again.......

Anyway, on to more important things - A Morton win, by one goal or two but not likely to be more.

The likely condition of the pitch is something that has to be taken into account when formulating team selection and tactics. As a consequence of that who and how we play might not meet with ours fans expectations. But then they won't have watched Albion play on Saturday.

I'm sorry to see Derek sidelined, like Bold I hope it's nothing significant, but it means we have a chance of scoring so I'll take it.

With league business going so well I'm in two minds about how much we should put into this game, but finances are tight and after two good Cup runs in recent years I think we have every right to have a good go at Morton.

We have a part-time squad with the fitness levels of a full-time squad, but after two testing games in quick succession energy might be an issue. Perhaps Andy Barrowman will finally come alive against his former club. Ricardo Talu may also have a point to prove to Jim Duffy, who rejected him in the Summer.
