League Cup Semi-Finals 2015-16

The draw is made on 9th November, but it's a 3 month wait until semi-final weekend; 30th and 31st January 2016.

Ross County

St Johnstone

Hibs/ Dundee United

Hearts/ Celtic

For Saints fans, hopefully only a Celtic tie would be at Hampden.

Hearts at Easter Road.

Hibs or United at Tynecastle

Ross County possibly at one of the Dundee grounds (preferably Tannadice) or, if not deemed big enough (?!!), then Tynecastle as well

There seems to be a strange acceptance that if Hearts or Hibs make the semis and avoid the Old Firm, they should play in Edinburgh regardless of opposition.

In 2014 the organisers wanted Aberdeen/St Johnstone at Easter Road and Hearts/Caley at Pittodrie. The story goes Hearts said their fans would not travel in numbers to Aberdeen, so their game was moved to Easter Road, leaving Caley with a lunchtime kick-off in Edinburgh.

St Johnstone or Dundee Utd v either Edinburgh side in the capital I can understand, but Ross County having to play there is essentially them being the away side.

Tannadice probably just about big enough for County v anyone other than Celtic going by recent League Cup semi crowds.

Easter Road or Fir Park for me, seeing as ive been to neither.

Celtic at Hampden would be the worst possible draw.

You've never been to Easter Road or Fir Park? That can't be right, surely?

I'd back East End Park as a potential venue too. Maybe even for a potential United game? Would Inverness really not be big enough for Saints vs County though?

What is the capacity of Inverness? Wikipedia says 7,800. More than enough for County vs Saints I reckon. In terms of travel, is it any different than making County travel to Dundee?

I think East End Park (about 12,000) would be fine for Saints vs United.

The problem is that Aberdeen isn't any easier then Edinburgh to get to from Inverness or dingwall. If hearts get through, were drawn against county and county complained about it being in Edinburgh I'd rather the game was at east end/mcdairmaid/caleys ground with limited tickets then play the game in Aberdeen

Logistically it makes perfect sense but I really can't see the powers that be having the semi final outside the central belt. I'd guess that even Aberdeen would be a bit of a push.

Inverness for the semi would be a fecker of a journey for me too. And I don't want that.

RandomGuy - I struggle to comprehend that you've never been to Easter Road or Fir Park. Two stable grounds over the last few years and you come across as a die hard. Nothing disparaging meant, just surprised.
