East Fife v Stirling Albion

This coming Saturday the Albion make the journey to New Bayview to face East Fife.

Having played their 2 weeks ago on League business and getting a deserved 1-1 draw can the Albion go one better and beat them to advance to the 3rd Round. I certinaly hope so the performance and result against the Clyde yesterday was encouraging for the tie with East Fife and if our strikers Steven Dorris in particular can take some of the chances that he missed yesterday that I am optimistic for our chances.

It will be a diificult tie and East Fife will fancy their chaces at home.

I expect the team will be along the lines of the team yesterday with Willie Robertson possibly coming back into the team and hopefully he manages to stay on for the full 90 minutes this time unlike the last meeting when he got sent off in the last minutes of the League game.

Prediction East Fife 1 Albion 2 Binos to march into the 3rd Round draw with a bit of luck in front of goal.

IF we play like we did against Clyde, then this really could be a cracker of a game.

I don't want to speak toooooo soon however things slowly seem to be clicking into place for McLaren, as Ray Vaugh has already said, all too often this season we have blown hot and cold however the players will take a lot of confidence from the 90 minutes against Clyde and if we can do that then every team in this league are going to have to be having an on day to beat us.

East Fife are no mugs though, they're having a better season than us so far and have been top of the pile for a reason. In Nathan Austin they have probably got the best Striker in the league and lets be honest 1 or 2 others aren't bad either.

Stirling are blowing hot and cold at the moment. We could revert to type and have a stinker at East Fife as we did up at Arbroath after two straight wins.

We shall see.

I predict a replay.

With no offence meant, I'm sure it's the last thing either side would want, with at least 4 league fixtures against one-another this year.

So it's probably a cert

No offence, did you groan as much as we did when the draw was made?

You want an away trip to a non-league team with a decent social club.

No, we probably groaned more!!!

Probably time to have every League team in the First Round Draw, mix it up a bit!!!

Edited to say... No offence!!!

SASC are now running a bus to Methil for the East Fife Scottish Cup tie on Oct 24th.

We originally planned to put on a 33 seater bus but, as we have an excellent relationship with Mitchell's, he is giving us a 49 seater for the same price.

Plenty of room for non-members who wish to join us if they wish. Let's fill this bus up and go win this cup tie.

Stirling Albion Supporters Club
Bus to East Fife: 24Oct15
12.25 1314 Inn
12.30 Anchor Bar
12.35 Islamic Centre

Well it's back to Forthbank for the replay, neither team really deserved to go through.

Main talking point was the sending off of Willie Robertson for a stamp on an East Fife player during an attempt to get the ball. East Fife had 2 players booked for their part in the fracus that followed the incident . Imo both were lucky to be still on the field.

So all to play for again at Forthbank on Tuesday 3rd November.

Fixed it for you!!!

Absolutely appalling game, both sides equally shite, with neither deserving to go through, if there was any way to do it they should both be out of the cup!!!

Thought Keiran MacDonald had a good game and that was about it really, the only highlight was the 22 man brawl at the end and I honestly thought Pagey would have walked also for going tonto and then going through the entire Stirling side on his own, perhaps if the fracas had happened in the first half we might have seen a more competative game!!!

Also, kudos to the Officials for being able to make themselves the centre of attention for the entire game, with some quite frankly ludicrous decisions and some of the most inept refereeing seen since last week, where do they get these clowns from???

Listening to Stuart McLaren trying to justify Willie Robertson's stamp was actually quite amusing! I felt sorry for Robertson for his sending off in the league game but make no bones about it if he was caught on cctv in street doing that he would be up in court on Monday! Yes Page & Mercer were lucky to stay on the park but if you witnessed your pal being stamped on then you would ease in too!

Ref said didn't give the pen & booked Austin for diving because no EF player appealed for it! Go figure!

Still think we're favourites for the replay

East Fife created 3 or 4 decent chances but poor finishing kept the game level. Both teams poor it has to be said , I cant remember East Fife keeper making a save of note. A shocking double stamp gave the ref no option but to show red. Doris never got any change from Paige and Fash struggled against the two Albion central defenders. Has to be said neither striker got any support from their midfields. Only time fash got in behind the centre half he hauled him down and a yellow was shown. If East Fife and Stirling can take anything from the game it is they both defended pretty well. However the midfields created very little to talk about. This has been evident from every team I have seen this season.
