Gordopolis
Anyone know if we're playing games around the time of the play offs ( )? I know the appetite might not be there for it, and we'll have to establish if Strachan's staying first, but we've got to pick ourselves up and start again somewhere. I'm hoping we'll take a couple of games in November rather than going into cold storage till well into next year.
ShawfieldAggro
Maybe the SFA are waiting on news from countries still involved in the competition.

Monkey Tennis
In fairness to Strachan, seeing the gap in our November schedule, he's fixed up an October friendly for us instead. ETA: Beaten to it.
Guest DAVIDB69
If we do it will be someone poor as we have to think of the ranking points. We can't be seen to play decent sides and get a hiding

Mahonio
We NEED to climb rankings though as we are in an embarrassing position at the moment!!
CowdenConvert
We NEED to climb rankings though as we are in an embarrassing position at the moment!!The blazers would probably arrange games against top nations to maximise revenue instead of doing what the swiss do and maximise their points in friendlies. Our game really is that badly run.

SpoonTon
Playing Cyprus in March I hear? It wouldn't be the worst game in the world in terms of preparation for the likes of Lithuania and Malta in the next campaign, especially with the failure in Georgia in mind. It wouldn't exactly be an inspiring choice, but could be useful.
Gordopolis
Looked on TAMB and saw all sorts of rumours re playing Hungary, Romania, Austria, Switzerland and NI in November, March and June (and the date pre-Malta). No idea what's nonsense or what's semi-realistic.
Guest DAVIDB69
Just shows the levels we are at now friendlies against Cyprus. Chris Coleman wants decent opponents in friendlies for his team as this will improve them. We won't as if we take a few hidings from decent opponents Strachan might struggle to justify the old guard being picked

mizfit
Choose a side at roughly our level and give some of the youngsters a run out as well, give them a chance to show they deserve a chance for the next campaign.

Gordopolis
Hope we don't just let these dates slide, especially if its just because we're waiting in Strachan to make his mind up. As someone else said, the SFA should be teeing up friendlies regardless of the managerial situation.
HibeeJibee
We should use all available dates, to keep momentum up; try new players and tactics; and obtain ranking points. We've not got a competitive match for almost 1 year but could play various friendlies in that time (Nov, Mar, end of season, September).
