Cowden316
Thank goodness I wont be able to make this one as if we get beat I don't think I could sit without venting my frustrations at the players and the manager. Our team needs to buck up its ideas and fast. Chopper needs to get his fitness/condition sorted and if he cant whether fans favourite or not he should consider mutually terminating his contract but I hope we as a club can support Chopper to help him get through this bad phase in his career. If Nish gets beat against Stenhousemuir there is no question he has to go. Very harsh comments from me but its the club I have at heart and sometimes for a club to succeed you have to make ruthless and sometimes unpopular decisions otherwise we are heading to League Two as its clear Nish does not have the dressing room and its clear some of our players need a very harsh talking to as they are not playing for our club passionately. Football in League Two could be extremely damaging to our club and if we were to be sitting bottom of that league we could potentially be heading to the lowland league via the pyramid system and then you most probably definitely have no Cowdenbeath Football Club. I stood by Jimmy all season and I still stand by that but I cannot stand by and watch this football club plummet to the bottom basement of Scottish football and the damage that will have a long with it. If we were in the Championship I would allow Nish more time as after all this is his first gig and has a small budget but we are not in the championship. We need to drill home a winning mentality to the players. Fortunately our home record has been okay and I hope that continues against Stenhousemuir. CowdenConvert
Not sure if i want us to win this or get gubbed (which is what i expect) to hammer another nail into Nish's coffin. After the first quarters performances I don't think he's up to it. Nothing short of a convincing win with a good performance will even begin to start budging me from that position. Scraping a draw or one goal win is only prolonging the inevitable. Winning a few games at home and getting reamed away already has us bottom of the league. If Nish wins then he has answered his critics by proving he can turn things around which would be positive and he would deserve to be backed on a game to game basis. However Nish needs to identify its a lot more than just getting away performances better its also the lack of professionalism that seems to exist within the team. Some players I would agree do really need to have a hard look at themselves and personally need to be brought down to reality that they aren't as good as they think. These players need a Dick Campbell approach similar to his outburst after he played us where he admitted he had players that think they are bigger than they are. A narrow win at home is nothing better or different to what we've seen this season so changes nothing for me.

Surely you don't think that all the problems can be sorted within the space of two weeks!? If the manager does turn this round, it's gonna take several weeks rather than days, no? If the manager does turn this round, it's gonna take several weeks rather than days, no?He's had since he was appointed to get things right. Plain fact is he hasn't. How long is it before people think it isn't working? 4 more weeks of scraping the odd result at home and getting humped away? 8 weeks?a narrow win or draw against Stenny won't have me thinking things are any better than they have been. A convincing win might. A result in our next away game would also be a big help. What have we witnessed this season to make us think either of these are likely? Cowden316
Surely you don't think that all the problems can be sorted within the space of two weeks!? If the manager does turn this round, it's gonna take several weeks rather than days, no? This will be his final test for me. The board have to be perfectly blunt to Nish and tell him he applied for this position. His objective was to achieve 4th position which is currently looking unachievable at this stage based on some of our performances particularly defensively and our form away from home. He also needs to be advised of the concerns from fans who have real concerns over the professionalism of the players and their fitness and be advised they have a valid point as we look like an utter shambles on the park. If I was a member of the board I would suggest that he is advised to be told that he needs to start lifting the club from the bottom of the table starting with Stenny by taking all 3 points and from then his position will be reviewed on a game to game basis. If he fails to beat Stenny he is told to go or if he beats Stenny and from further games later brings the club back into the relegation zone then he is told to go as well. His review period should terminate should he steer Cowden into a reasonable safety zone i.e 6 points away from the relegation playoffs. I personally think this would be reasonable request as 1. They are giving him a final chance to prove that he has what it takes and 2. The board will lift reviewing him should he get us back into a reasonable position in the league. The task is simple for him, beat Stenny and steer away from relegation. Unable to do this then its game over I am afraid. At this stage I would love for us to finish 4th but my main concern at this stage is getting clear as far as we can from the relegation zone and hopefully if we do that we can build on strengthening our overall league position. NotAFan
Just not sure why a 'narrow win' is unacceptable as a starting point. Surely it's more important to stop leaking goals first and build from there. That's all.

Right now 3 points regardless of performance is important. 3 points is 3 points
