Stephen Malkmus
versus I think we can all agree that teams like Manchester City, Chelsea and Ross County are ruining football with their lavish spending and sugar-daddy-plaything teams. Teams who live within their means like ICT are the true guardians of the game. What happens when Uncle Roy gets bored with trying to emulate the ICT success story? It doesn't bear thinking about for the Gudgie Galacticos. Anyway, County will be looking to make it to the first semi-final since 2010, when they fell at the final hurdle in the Scottish Cup. We'll be looking to make it through to our fourth semi final in four years. This will be a high-scoring encounter, I reckon. Hopefully we come out on top. ICTChris
f**k knows what to make of this game. I think County are favourites for Saturday's match but who knows what the form will be like for this one. I'm relying on Sho Silva loving Jesus more than dour-faced Presbyterian Roy to see us through.
Stephen Malkmus
I would make County favourites for this, although that's based more on the law of averages than anything rational. Four semis in four years would be incredible for a club of our size.

Highland No 1
Think that ICT will have more players returning from injury before this game and with Yogi having a larger squad available to choose from , there can only be one outcome-----ICT in another League Cup semi-final. ICTChris
Ross County have never beaten Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a cup tie. In 2003 the first ever cup meeting saw the sides clash in the Challenge Cup quarter finals, with Steve Hislop scoring the only goal against his former club. ICT went on to win that years diddy cup as well as taking the First Division title. In August 2004 the newly promoted ICT went over the bridge to Dingwall to claim a narrow but comfortable 1-0 victory in the league cup. Ross Tokely won the game with a headed goal. That ICT squad had six ex-County players in it (Stuart Golabek, Barry Wilson, Steve Hislop, Graham Bayne, Richie Hart and Roy McBain). Subsequently, Hart, Golabek, Mark Brown, Grant Munro and Ross TOkely all went on to play for County. It was more than five years until the next derby cup game, a low key meeting in the challenge cup, won by a cross that flew in from Robert Eagle. No-one really mentions Eagle when they recall the signing successes of the Butcher era, do they? The next two cup ties began with one of the most dramatic derbies in recent years, the 3-3 game in Dingwall in December 2012. AFter leading through Billy Mckay and Richie Foran Caley were pegged back and conceded what seemed like a last minute winner from Richie Brittain, only for PHilip Roberts to bundle in a last-last gasp equaliser. The replay saw Billy Mckay cement his place as leading Caley scorer in derbies with a double, while then former and now current Caley player Iain Vigurs replied with a stunning lob for County. Sherrif John Bunnell
Ross County have never beaten Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a cup tie. I definitely remember us beating ICT in Inverness for the prestigious dead bus driver trophy. Circa 2007/2008.

Biscuitty Boyce
Would like it if we could win one of these things... It's been a while. I would line up: Woods Fraser Robbo Davies Reckord Midge Irvine Murdoch RDV Boyce Curran Curran and Boyce because they're the best striking partnership we've had since our promotion. De Vita because he is a left mid and Ricky Foster is a right back.
RiG
Am I right in saying that Hughes hasn't beaten Ross County in Inverness? Given the waves if discontent rippling through ICT I can't see anything but a County win.
yoda
We know how this ends: ICT fans talk about County being favourites, then ICT win. No wins against ICT since 1st January 2014. County are due a satisfying "GIRUYYC (Get It Right Up You, You c***s)" win but I'm already seeing visions of a 2-1 defeat. If Draper is still out (he missed the game yesterday?) then I feel a bit more confident about County being able to overrun the ICT midfield two. I'll probably watch this from home. Not out of any sense of "Booo! I don't want to give ICT money even though it's a cup game and gate receipts are split!" but because (a) it will be cold; and (b) my non-attendance will have played a part in angering Guardian golf correspondent, and all round miserable shit, Ewan Murray. alsy
I can see us getting turned over here. I wasn't at the game in Dingwall, but it sounded like County had a lot of the game without being able to take their chances, whereas we haven't looked remotely like scoring since, and can always be relied on for a late defensive calamity or two. On the positive side, Top Six Next Year and ICT Chris were on a spying mission at Tynecastle yesterday, and are no doubt currently compiling their highly detailed dossier on County to give to Yogi. There's no chance that they would have just spent the 90 minutes abusively tweeting County supporters. None at all.
IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER
Yip we are there fer the proverbial taking. There are problems on and off the pitch. Injuries to important players and that may now include Draper - or playing him again not 100% fit - and what is becoming an epic saga of playing without a recognised striker. Let's just hope that the highly subsidised but still unwashed travellers bottle it as usual.
Stephen Malkmus
If Ro$$ Bounty don't absolutely destroy us on Tuesday they should fold as they will never have a better chance. As we all know though, they are a gutless team of mercenaries - so it will be tight. Does anyone know any pubs in London that show provincial football? Ross County employed the same game plan against Hearts as they did against us in Dingwall. I envisage them to come out all guns blazing and then run out of ideas (if they don't score early on). Hearts played a lot of balls directly through the centre and Ross County as a unit dealt with it well. They are good as a unit and well organised. They offered very little in the final third yesterday though - I think their first shot on target came around the 65th minute. I could see the sides cancelling each other out and the match going to penalties. Having Draper back in is crucial and I would be very inclined to drop Tremarco and move Williams into that position. If we're going to progress, we're going to need Christie firing on all cylinders. I'm sure ICTChris will be able to offer better insight than what I've offered here. PS - What's with the county players sporting Hipster beards? Bring back Richard Brittain I say.
