Not sure we should even be discussing Rhodes vs Fletcher. Different types of forwards and ideally we'd select both for the squad.

However, Re level: Fletcher is an EPL player, but a pretty poor one at the moment - neither playing regularly nor, when he does get on from the bench, looking remotely like he's going to trouble the opposition goal. Rhodes is playing as a lone striker at a lower level and still - despite Blackburn losing quality players in other parts on the park - he continues to deliver goals and assists at an impressive rate. So the level argument really is creaking at the seams at the moment.

ETA: good article on this http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/striking-omissions-in-scotland-s-quest-for-goals-1-3899438

Came on at half time and led the line against man utd yesterday. Didn't score though I'd imagine if he was playing at a much lower level he would score a lot more

He keeps up his bench warming we might just find out, borini starting in front of you is a sign you're not doing something right at training etc, fletcher is so off form the now it's unreal

I don't think he'd ever be a prolific striker no matter what level he played at. He's a 10-12 goal a season man when on form.

Find out in January when Sunderland ship him out on loan, probably to the championship or maybe Celtic park

Another goal for Rhodes today taking his tally to 5 for the season.Use this thread to chart his goal scoring prowess throughout the season as fletcher gets splinters in his arse sitting on the Sunderland bench.

Fletcher played 45 minutes against Man United yesterday - albeit 45 pretty terrible minutes.

I bet you're one of the boys who's always screaming at the manager to get two up front and 'get it forward'.

He is shite remember

Literally nobody said this you thick fucking TA bumpkin.

Wouldn't expect him to start vs Poland but if he isn't even in the squad then that's ridiuclous. Same goes for McCormack, not really sure what more they can do.

So if you're demanding Rhodes and McCormack be in the squad, which two strikers are dropping out? I presume Martin and Griffiths, unless you're going completely mental and want either Fletcher or Naismith out.

Rhodes will not start either game, and is about a 50/50 shot of getting into the squad at all. Which is about right.

Agree with this. Essentially it is between Martin, Rhodes and McCormack for the 4th strikers slot (though why not just pick a fifth striker?)

WGS has a bit of a boner for Martin, so i can't see anything other than it being Fletcher, Naismith, Griffiths and Martin.

Personally, I'd go for Fletcher, Naismith, Griffiths, Rhodes and McCormack
