Many thanks to both these clubs for producing a tremendous afternoons football.

Tam Hanlon got the visitors off to a flying start, when he blasted a free kick into the Hurlford net from 25yds.

Hurlford skipper & best player on the day, Paul McKenzie got his side level soon after when he got himself some space on the right edge of the 18yd box & chipped the ball over Pollok goalies head into the net.

Half time Hurlford 1-1 Pollok.

Both teams had several good goal scoring opportunities in the 2nd half, & the game looked to be heading fora draw, when with only 5mns remaining , Hurlfords no6 James Clune powered in a free kick from 25yds, Jordan Longmuir saved well low to his right, but Stewart Kean reacted quickest to knock the ball home from 6yds.

Super game, decent crowd. BlaiePark in tremendous nick.

The officials brought both dugouts to life on several occasions, but they did very well.

One of the Hurlford subs got a red for an outrageous tackle on Mark Sideserf , just after he had received a yellow. Mark was helped off the pitch in some distress, hope he is ok.

MOM - Crowd favourite John Sweeny of Pollok. He played very well, & called John Darroch an old fat b*****d.

How did Higgins do on debut?

He showed some nice touches, struggled a bit physically but got better as game went on.

Hopefully the rumours on the Pollok Forum of a broken leg for sideserf are wrong - a shocking challenge that the ref though merited a yellow card and had some idiot in the home support telling him to get up when it was clear a stretcher had been called for.

Danny Mitchell got a second yellow for a bad high tackle. Heard from the Ford players after the match that Sideserf said Danny didn't hit him but that his knee had just gone from under him. Hope that is true and he's not badly injured.

Referee was shocking. Thought he denied Ford a penalty but can understand why some of his other decisions angered the visitors. Second league match of ours that he has been poor. Hear he's due for promotion to the seniors. Good riddance.

In the lead up to the incident with Mark. The ball hit the arm of a Pollok defender, by it was never a penalty.

But ey hada God shout for a penalty in an earlier incident, when I thought Mark Sideserf handled the ball.

It appears Pollok are finding the step up to the top league to be a wee bit harder than they expected.

How do you come to that conclusion?

Where has anyone from Pollok implied it would be anything but hard.

Maybe concentrate on your own team putting up a fight for promotion.

I was referring to the earlier one but I really only mention it to point out he was just poor not biased.

As for Pollok not making the step up. I thought they looked a good side. Big number 4 kept Ross Robertson quiet and number 8 and the lad Higgins looked comfortable at this level. Sweeney had a good match too, its a pity he is such an arse.

Lol, touchy touchy.

I wish we had the money, support and resources you have, it would make it easier to compete with the likes of Pollok. Mind you, we did not bad at Newlandsfield last season. ;-)

It was a very close game that could have went anyway. Probably our best performance at Hurlford in the last 3 years - unfortunately nothing to show for it

S Reid referred the game at Blair Park this afternoon, he did not favour one side or the other. I thought he was being a bit fussy early on when he stopped the game, ran over to Darren's dugout to remove a youngster from the bench. But around 10 kids piled out of the dugout, I thought Darren was running a Crèche.
