Is Usain Bolt on steroids?

Is Bolt clean or is he a doper?

To me it is almost certain that Bolt is not clean. I've found it strange that there have been so few doping claims against him. He is beating proven drug cheats easily.

Most of the doping questions put to hin this week have been about Justin Gatlin.

Do more questions need to be asked?

He's been unbelievable since the age of about 14, maybe earlier, as opposed to coming out of nowhere and suddenly running these incredible times. It's something I've always been wary of though, and if it were found he was doping, could potentially ruin the sport as a whole.

In almost all instances of doping in professional sport, it involves someone who improves rapidly in a short period of time during the middle of their career or there are other factors which would cause doubts. The main doubts against Bolt would probably centre on the Jamaican federation's lax drug testing.

"Dr Paul Wright told the BBC that the Caribbean island's anti-doping regime had been woefully short of the international standards required." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/athletics/24900565 .

Of course, he would still be tested regularly in international competitions and, as mentioned above, he has been running incredibly good times since he was very young.

If you want to see someone who is almost certainly doping imo, look at Novak Djokovic and his gluten free diet transformation / weird egg treatment thing.

You could easily add Nadal into this, IMO.

On Bolt: I want him to be clean as the sport needs its greatest ever athlete to be clean. As people have already said it's not like he arrived from nowhere, broke the world record and was suddenly the best in the world. He'd been a star in the making since his early teens. I just find it hard to believe he's beating all of these guys so easily while not taking something - are his doctors just one step ahead of the game?

I read somewhere he's the most tested athlete in the world (don't know if this is true). I hope this is the case and I hope that he is, and has always been, clean of drugs as for me he's the best there's ever been.

I'd let everyone take as many steroids as they like.

Yes, clean sport maintains integrity but it would be a lot more fun watching 8 twitchy roided up freaks running the 100m in 6 seconds than 8 clean athletes struggling to break to 10 barrier.

The fight at the end of the race would be even more entertaining.

Measure out 10 & 1/2 metres, think " that's how much ground he covers in a second, every second for 9.5 of them", then ask yourself if he's being artificially aided?

Do the same exercise with 8.5m and think "that's how much distance a kid at a High School championships can cover every metre in his 12.5 second 100m" and you'll realise your argument is silly.

Did you not claim Lance Armstrong was innocent until he finally confessed? Shame him letting you down has made you so cynical.

Top Jamaican sprinters like Simpson, Campbell-Brown, Blake and Powell, amongst others, have all failed drugs tests in recent years. We're expected to believe that an island with 3 million people have produced a generation of world class sprinters in the last 10 years, out of nowhere, without cheating. Laughable really. Bolt was beating Powell and Blake when they were cheating, if you think he's a great athlete now then think how great he actually is if he's running clean and beating guys who are cheating.

Even if Bolt has/does fail a test there is no chance of it ever being released as it would finish Athletics as a sport. Look at the blind eye that has been turned to a bunch of lesser known drugs cheats, never mind the greatest athlete in history.

I'm surprised the chinese don't have 5 or 6 runner doing about 4.6 secs.
