Weekend 29/30

Let's have it then. Raith 5/1 to beat Hibs at Easter Road, a ground we have a fantastic record at, seems a tad generous given the respective club's forms.

Dundee, Hearts, Aberdeen and Ross county will probably feature for me this weekend. Haven't looked at England yet.

Clyde opposition overpriced again. Can get 6/1 for Shire with McBookie!

Like the look of Hearts and Aberdeen as mentioned. Also fancy Elgins good start to continue; 21/20 at home to Stirling.

Down south Hull are a reasonable price at home to Preston (19/20)

I wouldn't bet on Dundee tbh. I'd wait until the teams were out first, because if we play 3-2-3-1-1 again then we won't win. Plus we havent beaten Inverness in 10 attempts.

If we play 4-3-1-2 lump on

Aberdeen to win to nil seems a solid shout this weekend :(

Thistle have only managed to score against an awful Kilmarnock side this season. Chances are thinner on the ground than Ronny Deila CL qualifications, at the moment :(

ETA: Got 19/5 on Aberdeen to win to nil doubled with Hearts to win at NDP @ 11/8. A tough task for Hearts as Accies rarely get beat at home and have had a couple of great results recently. I'm largely going on the form of Hearts' start to the league.

I'm liking the look of Leicester at Bournemouth. 5/2 seems crazy considering how well they've started. Hearts at 11/8 to beat Hamilton away and Aberdeen are 3/4 to win at Partick. That's just a quick look and those three stood out to me.

I'll have a proper look later on but Coral once again have Tavernier anytime at 6/1 as the bad guys travel to Queen of the South.

Scored again tonight. Top scorer alongside Kenny Miller according to Radio Scotland.

Biggest bet of the season so far for me on Aberdeen away to Partick Thistle at 4/5. Aberdeen have won every game in the league thus far and defensively look almost impregnable (some word). Thistle haven't scored domestically yet aside from against Killie and looked dire against us last night. I was really surprised at how comfortable Falkirk were, and we're Championship midcarders, not a team with an outside shout of challenging for the title in the top flight. Aberdeen had a free midweek whilst Thistle had the run out against us on Tuesday. Celtic were a fair bit shorter than this at Firhill IIRC and this should be similarly priced to that game.

7/5 on Hearts is a good price as well. I'm guessing this beyond Evens as Accies have won their last two? Inverness have been brutal this year but the Dundee United result does jump out a bit. Losing to Raith with a fairly strong team on the park was poor though, as is losing to Ross County and drawing with the aforementioned rotten Partick Thistle at home when Thistle had 10 men for an hour or so. I fancy Accies to drop down the league a bit once they've played some tougher games as their start has been pretty generous. Hearts are getting more comfortable by the week by all accounts, and they've obviously won every game this season. Common opponents have been PT and RC - Accies drew 0-0 and lost 2-0 respectively, Hearts won 3-0 and 2-1 respectively. Stake here is about half of what I have on Aberdeen.

Morton picked up a good win through the week and I like the look of them at 7/5 away to Alloa. In Morton's last five in all competitions they've conceded just 2 goals - one at Easter Road in a 1-0 defeat where they had chances, and one in a 1-1 draw with ourselves. Queens have been flying and picking up a 1-0 win in Dumfries isn't to be sniffed at. I missed Morton-St Mirren but Langfield was MOTM. The only game Alloa haven't lost this season was against Brora, which is concerning for them. Raith didn't particularly impress me against Falkirk and they humped Alloa 3-0 last week. Morton beat Elgin 5-0, Alloa lost to Elgin 2-0. Alloa also lost to Berwick. I'm keeping the stake fairly small here but the price is good IMO.

I think Raith are worth a small play at 7/1 away to Hibs on Saturday. Raith have recovered well from their defeats to Falkirk and Stenny by trouncing Alloa and picking up a very nice win over Accies through the week. They looked solid if unspectacular when I watched them lose 1-0 to ourselves. Hibs on paper look good but Stubbs is a buffoon and something seems to be missing in this team IMO. Rangers took their soul a bit in the 6-2 game I feel. As I type this they're currently 1-0 up at home to Stranraer thanks to an OG with about 10 mins to play. A defeat to Dumbarton and a narrow win over Morton don't exactly scream title challengers. I expect Hibs to win here but there's no chance they should be significantly shorter than Aberdeen at Firhill, for example. Very small and speculative stake on Raith here.

Livi at 4/1 has to be worth backing away to St Mirren. They won there yesterday. Drubbing against Raith aside they haven't done too badly - narrow defeats to Falkirk and Queens in the league and wins away to Queens and St Mirren in the cups. St Mirren are having an atrocious season - defeats to Dumbarton and Livi, a draw at Morton and a narrow win over Annan. St Mirren are as short as 4/7 in places which is daft. Slightly bigger stake than I have on Raith but not by much.

I'm just working my way through the leagues but Peterhead are 8/5 away to Airdrie - WTF?!?!? Peterhead have 7 points from 9 in the league and beat Dunfermline last week who were being touted to steamroll everyone, as well as hammering Stranraer 4-0 down there. Before that they beat us 5-3 in Falkirk. Airdrie won last week but that was against Brechin who have looked abysmal in the highlights I've seen. Prior to that they'd lost to Stenny and Forfar in the league and exited one of the cups to Annan. Rangers were 3-0 up there after 15 mins, they didn't score a second against Peterhead until the last 20 mins. A two day rest for Airdrie as well which could be a factor. I am almost as big on this as I am on Aberdeen.

Clyde have two defeats from three and the Shire have two wins from three. I'm not sure how the Shire can be priced at 6/1 other than the bookies know who Barry Ferguson is and the "lol Shire" factor. I can't claim to be an expert on the league but it looks a weird price. Same stake on this as I have on Livi.

I watched Stuttgart lose to a poor Hamburg team on Saturday and they don't seem to have improved on last season. That's 2 defeats in their first 2 in the league this season with 6 goals conceded, against two sides who will likely be in the bottom half. Eintracht Frankfurt lost narrowly to Wolfsburg on the opening day and drew at the weekend. I'm not daft on Frankfurt to be anything more than midtable, but they look pretty big in this one at 3/1. Stuttgart still carry a bit of name value but they are rotten and have been for a few years. Nothing too wild from me but Frankfurt are worth a small bet.

Depending on how the weekend goes I might take Bochum on Monday at 5/6 but I will look at that nearer the time. I am tempted with Dundee at 13/10 too but the Dunfermline result scares me a bit.

Dumbarton are also well-priced away to Falkirk @ 100/30 on Friday night, probably won't touch that though and stick to Saturday.

Riskyish one for me - Aberdeen, Peterhead, East Stirling, Leicester, Villa, Swansea - £1 wins £572.62 with McBookie.

Big spender.

EDIT - just realised my McBookie account had Watford v Swansea down as being this weekend along with the Man Utd v Swansea game  Bugger me if the first 5 win then I've a 2 week wait

Hearts (away to accies) 7/5

Ross County (home to Dundee Utd) 6/5

Motherwell (home to Kilmarnock) 17/20

Forfar (away to Ayr) 9/5

Stenny (home to Cowden) 5/4

All reasonable prices there. 60/1.

Forfar missing 2 first choice centre backs and most creative attacking player, coupled with 120 minutes v Hearts on Tuesday and Ayr starting to find some form. Ayr are by far no means a certainty, but 9/5 is very short.
