According to the listing you were supposed to be playing at Civil Service and they v Burntisland in the EOS Qualifying Cup. Both of those ended-up playing Scottish Cup preliminary ties instead. You could hardly have played Edinburgh Uni then instead of tonight, as they were at Duns, thus would have had to be in 2 places at the 1 time. I know the students are keen but that'd be takings things a bit far ^_^...

It is quite unusual to have odd-numbered divisions although not unknown; there were 9 clubs in the EOS Premier Division last season.

This season no Senior division has odd numbers aside from LL - but there are odd numbers in some of the Junior bottom rungs, namely the East Region South District and North District due to 2 late resignations. Is certainly not ideal as someone goes without a game each Saturday, plus someone doesn't play on the final day of the season (although in the case of the Juniors they generally don't finish simultaneously anyway).

HL had 15 clubs for a while but up to 18 now.

Yes and now the league has ww free week 5th September when eos 2nd round getting played ?

Wouldn't a 1st round tie have priority are there any priorities wi cup games now ?

Original listing team 15 ww 3rd October ww now playing Strollers then in 1st round tie ?

Still fixtures are better (I suppose) than they ever were.

The league just seems bit lop sided even if at this early stage wi teams squeezing 8 games in and other teams playing only 6 within the 1st month ?

The students from Stirling managed it last season. When a suspended player played for the first team on the same day as he served his suspension received while playing for the first team. Not that I am bitter.

Civil Service are playing Kelty Hearts in another Scottish Cup preliminary tie on September 5th.

Local cups don't have priority over anything at this level, quite rightly. It's different with the Scottish Cup and South Challenge Cup (where it could probably be done away with too, tbh).

Remember that with an odd number of clubs someone will fall a game behind every time there are a set of matches, until you reach halfway then it starts all over again until you reach the last day of the season. Mind you, the chances are that by the time the end of November comes there will have been the odd postponement or cancellation, tbf.

Tonight looks to be the second instalment of match day #6 and so correspondingly come 10pm tonight there will be 6 clubs with a game-in-hand. Going by the table it may well be the bottom 6, as it so happens, depending on Stirling and Gala's results this evening.

EDIT: I suppose that makes sense, actually, in a fairly competitive league as they've missed one opportunity for an extra 1pt or 3pts.

 +1.

And indeed so it has proven - the 6 clubs to have been the 'odd team' since the start of the season currently occupy the bottom 6 places.
