spiders4ever
Despite Elgin's great start to the season this gives us a decent chance of reaching the semis.
elginite
Really dunno what to expect from this one haven't seen Queens Park play yet and we've been strong in recent games plus both set of fans will think there team can succeed should be a good game

Tuffers
Gunn must be the most travelled player in league two. Every home game is an away game for him! To f**k with travelling wick to berwick on a Tuesday night in December. Should be a good game between both teams. Both must fancy their chances of a semi final place. an86
Both sides will be pleased with this, us marginally more so because of the home draw. Think the club should maybe think about a similar situation to the New Year Clyde game for this one. Get as many tickets out into the community and drop the prices. I don't think 800 or so would be out of the question if we did it as well as we did the last time. If we managed to get through and ended up with another home draw, you'd have to think that the majority of people would be back for the semi-final at full price. Worth a punt, I reckon. As much as it's the best draw we could have had, it's still a tough one. Elgin have some very decent players and will be up for this every bit as much as we will. Expect a tight affair and hope that we can come out on top and find ourselves in nosebleed territory. Every one out of Queen's, Elgin, Stenny and Peterhead are hoping for the same thing. A win in the quarters and to face the winner of the other tie in the semis.
QPSAFalkirkFirm
Was confident about this game up until about 4pm on Saturday. Our recent league win over City suggested we had found our tempo but Saturday's game exposed our inconsistency and lack of strikepower from the front men. Recent midfield success in the goal attempts didn't appear and despite massive possession of the ball, the Montrose net lay at peace. So anything can happen this week. Hopefully Saturday was just a stutter but Elgin's continued good work will surely be more of a challenge than the Mo were. Extra-time quite likely here. elginite
Our good work hasn't been totally 100% though hopefully we just work hard straight from the start to the end should be a close one thinking possibly extra time
Albino Rover
It would have been great to see either of these teams in the semis, but well done QP. I (and everone else in the country) would absolutely love to see you scunner the Gers in the next round. Is last-minute Spider sub Marlow ex-Ayr youth Cammy Marlow? If so, how's he doing? The Spider
Would prefer to scunner them in the final tbh........hoping for either the buddies or the coddies at home in the semi - coddies away would be slightly worse than getting Second where at least we would do well financially. Cammy Marlow returned from the USA (same player?) and looks promising but hasn't had a real chance to impress yet.

Albino Rover
That sounds like the same chap. I'd have taken him at the Rovers- although I said the same about the other Ayr wonder-kid Mark Shankland, and it didn't seem to work out when he joined us on loan. QPSAFalkirkFirm
Half-time talk was all about how had we not scored four or five. An hour later we were howling at the ref to blow for full time. Just another Saturday for the QP. One of these weeks we'll get it right for both halves and somebody will get a cuffing. I love the way Gus showcases our attacking and defending capability, half a game for each. Fair play to Elgin. Your coach changed the shape and tightened the midfield up and it was much more even in the second. A heroic line clearance by Wharton keeping our lead. I think over the 90 we created more chances though which makes it a fair result. Second goal was a peach and Ralston's official MotM award is well deserved, though Berry again was outstanding. How many times does he win possession from nothing? Not sure if we can make Albino's dream come true but it might be fun trying....
Thom & Gerry
Well done Queens. Elgin were abysmal first half and 5 0 HT would not have been a surprise. Better second half from us but Queens deserved winners. Was impressed with then. Played some good football. Were solid at back and pacy up front, also worked hard at closing space down. Insaintee
Out of curiosity, how is wee Thomas getting on. Looked at one point as if he was going to be a world beater then never really came back from injuries the same player. Is he playing up front? He ended up playing defensive midfield for us before he left
Thom & Gerry
He hasn't had much of a chance really. Couple of sub appearances up front until yesterday when he started up front. He was pretty anonymous yesterday and was hooked at HT. Not entirely his fault as there were others in this same boat but probably was a casualty of having to stiffen the midfield. It looks as though he will play second fiddle to Gunn.
