What team do your players support?

Recommended Posts

The whole Allan saga got me thinking that it might be fun to discuss which teams are supported by the players on your team (if there is anything more exciting to do on a Friday night then it's certainly something that's passed me by.)

Used to be the case a few years ago that Hibs had a good number of Hibs supporters. Now the only ones I am aware of are:

Scott Allan - Sevco

Lewis Stevenson - Raith (I think...)

Jason Cummings - Hearts (At least, he used to support them.)

John McGinn is a Celtic fan.

ThommoGod- Saints. Not what some paranoid Celtic fans would have you believe.

Jason Naismith - Rangers fan.

Jim Goodwin - Was Celtic now Saints. We converted him to the good side :thumsup2 .

Jamie Langfield - Local lad, kissed my Saints badge in a Paisley night club and said FTOF. Not enough evidence for me but he fell in love with Aberdeen.

I don't know about the rest. If i was to guess I'd say Mallan,McMullan,Kelly will be of the green variety.

It doesn't bother me unless you are wearing a club suit in the dressing room celebrating a old firm goal whilst being live on tv and denying he didn't know there was cameras in said room but looked directly into the camera that wasn't there  .

I've honestly no idea and I suspect that if I did know, I'd be annoyed because they're probably mainly OF fans.

It pissed me off before we played Rangers in the 08 Cup Final to get to read about how some of our players had been to Manchester the previous week to support Rangers.

I immediately thought of that incident when I saw the thread.

Such behaviour totally pisses me off. So disrespectful.

Of course players have allegiances, but for that to be someone's focus ahead of a game in the same division is kinda disgraceful.

Fs lighten up monkey , the guy was celebrating a goal by his boyhood team in a major game , he is not a robot , a wee p***k for doing so right enough ;)

Typical of every Mickey Mouse club west of Haymarket.

Sean Kelly is certainly a Celtic fan. His old man frequents one of the supporters buses in Renfrew that a former workmate goes on and was on their bus last season when his boy scored at Parkhead.

Interestingly and indeed brain-meltingly for some Sevco fans, his younger brother Liam, who is also a Celtic fan, is Rangers 3rd choice goalie.

Anyone listening to RangersTV on Sunday will be well informed of our many and varied links with a certain team from the East End of Glasgow.

They had? Genuinely wasnt aware of that. Who had been to Manchester?

As for the current squad, apart from Lyle I dont think I know about any of the others.

Lewis Stevenson supported rangers all through school. Not a rovers fan.

Was the stat that 25% of footballers aren't actually interested in the game, other than as a job?

The rest probably have Barcelona or Real Madrid down as their big team TBH.

I remember reading a piece about Bob Harris heading down there and in it he mentioned Stevie Tosh making the same trip.
