He said if had been a league or cup game you would have ended up with 9 men.

Anyway I wont get involved in a slanging match with someone whose only reply is personal attacks and name calling.Distinct lack of class.

All the best to Darvel and we look forward to hosting uou in a friendly next season.

Let,s get this into some sort of perspective lads. For a friendly the game was very competitive and as preparation for the season ahead, it was ideal. This is the third year in a row we have played Larkhall pre-season and we hope the fixture continues . I thought Thistle had some excellent players and it was a good game so let's move on. All the best to Larkhall for the season ahead.

Don't believe that for a second, if the referee thought the tackles were that bad, they would of been off. Also, I'm not calling the players personally but as footballers they are. The way some of your players challenge to both opposition and fans to fight and "see them after the game" is a disgrace. Your goalie and "Neily" were a let down to your club.

Anyways, all the best. Always going to be a difference of opinions.

Common sense prevails.

Yes it was competitive which is what both teams needed.

Referee showed a lot of common sense as it was a friendly and the wind and rain made it difficult to control the ball at times and invited tackles.

Darvel are a big strong team and I'm sure will do well this season.

How are your two playets who lost their arguments with the perimiter fence, looked nasty at the time, hopefully nothing too serious.

Both ok, Hope you got a sandwich?

Believe it, he is my son's best mate but irrelevant now.

So you're not being personal but go on to mention one player at least by name, Mmmm right.

If there's one thing I've learned in the juniors its don't get involved with players leaving the pitch when they're still pumped up with adrenalin.

If you start calling guys "p**cks* and w****rs and they respond to the insults is it really that much of a surprise? Challenging you to fight is out of order right enough although I didn't personally hear that. If the manager did then I'm sure words will be said at training.

Anyway it's been done to death now and it was a "friendly" so we move on and concentrate on the real games next week.

Really hope you do well next season as Darvel have a great bunch of guys running the club.

Who scored for Maryhill? They have had a decent pre-season so far. Should be a good test against Petershill on Tuesday night.

Six different scorers, which is always encouraging - Callander, Docherty, Fraser, Quinn, Asante and Furay...

It was nominally Spartans' U20's we were playing, but in reality it was a bit of a mix, with a couple of U17s and first teamers as well. Apparently it was most of their players' first game back - they noticeably tired as the game went on, and in fact the ref blew for full time after 85 minutes with our agreement.

Looking forward to the Peasy game on Tuesday - saw them a couple of weeks ago and they look good this season.

Game came to life in the 2nd half with The saints scoring 2 just after the restart... but overall the east based referee favoured the east based team.. some shocking decisions especially the red cards shown to the Town players... merited yes but other players involved should have walked...

Just because you had two players sent off means the referee favoured the East Region side does it !!!

The referee was overall poor and at times awful, what about the big centre half standing on our boys head in the first half, cutting his eye less than half an inch from his eyeball, that was cowardly and not needed. The referee should have taken action then and the rest wouldn’t have happened.

As for the sendings off, the first one, our full back has gone in hard but won the ball fairly but still got booked , your number nine gets up and starts throwing punches, is that allowed in the west perhaps our friend at Talbot, Beith and Pollok, who we have enjoyed competitive but fair games against would like to tell us. The second one, our man has gone in high but your number 5, remember him, gets up and once agin starts waving his arms about pushing our man to the ground. Quite rightly your man was sent off, followed by ours who wouldn’t have got sent off but for your number 5’s reaction.

All in all the referee could have acted differently and it would have been a different game. As it would have been if the six players you had missing had bothered to make the trip.

Very competitive game for a friendly. Good to see Darvel building a side that can cope with teams who set out to intimidate. Keeper hides his lack of ability by challenging opposition players and supporters to fight. Strange that a good club like Larkhall would want associated with a character like that. Must be short of cover for the number 1 jersey.

Regarding the 1st incident with the big centre half (and I do remember him)...your player pulls him to the gound from behind resulting in the collision...

Ist red card and it was n08 not 9...your player finds himself on top of him and he fights him off by pushing not fists...red card yes but for both it should have been...

2nd red card merited yes but after your player cowardly swipes at him from behind....

Do you see the pattern here...saints players the instigators...and the referee knew this but chose to favour the home side

As for players missing some were working, some on holiday and a few struggling with injury...
