Due to unforeseen circumstances, the team we are supposed to play tomorrow has cancelled and we now require someone to fulfil the fixture. It has to be at Muirkirk cos we have a permit in place. Could any interested parties DM me please.

Thanks Kevin.

Thanks for the quick reply glensmad. Both teams are in the same league and it would't be ideal for either of us. Unfortunately due to the lateness of the cancellation beggars can't be choosers and might be the best option for whitletts and ourselves.

I appreciate that, we had the same scenario at the Kilbirnie tournament when we were drawn against Largs last Saturday, probably the tie that neither side wanted pre-season. Fortunately the game finished in a 1-1 draw, so neither team gained any psychological advantage over the other.

Yeah best avoided where possible. Irvine vics and Dalry have that problem tomorrow in Neilston and if the tourney was over 2 days me and Geordie would be there on Sunday with the notebooks out.

We've been gagging for an away friendly since Tuesday and thankfully we got a game arranged yesterday for Saturday against Glencairn at toryglen kev.

It's really hard at short notice and nothing worse when your wanting a game and it's tough to get one .

Cheers cantona, we have a squad of 22 so we're going to have a bounce game amongst us all. It's unfortunately been a bit late in the day to deal with the cancellation and get an alternative sorted but it'll give us the opportunity to give everyone 90 minutes and do some shaping exercises.

That's twice this pre-season a team has called off on the Friday before the game and it has left us not as prepared as we should. Taking the job so late has meant pre season has been haphazard and we're having to think on our feet, normally we would've sounded teams out in May for games. It's a pity we didn't get yourselves cos it would've been a good workout for the boys and a decent away support for the club. Muirkirk has got a cracking set up and the team has a night out tomorrow meaning no car for me so I could've got a pint with yourself and a few old faces as well.

Thanks skinny, it's a young squad we've got and hopefully we can keep the momentum going for the whole season. Like I said earlier we're not as prepared as we should but are pretty confident we'll be not far away when we play Darvel in the first game of the season

That would have been good mate as muirkirk is a ground I've never visited whether it be its old ground or current one, I've only heard really good things about the new ground and maybe sometime in the future we can organise a friendly between both teams and a catch up.

Good to see yourself and Geordie back in football and I will be showing a keen interest in muirkirk results this season.

You never been to Muirkirk mate ?. Strange how things work out regards fixtures over the years.

Been to both their grounds and much prefer it to nicely, nicey, we have everything, we are so cool...Beechwood in Talbotiland ;)

Club was ran by a guy called Johnny Miller ( a think) for eons...virtually single handed, that's what the juniors are about.

I know mate it's really strange how things work out in that you can get about certain grounds ( some even in other regions) lots and others not at all even back in the days of the old Ayrshire divisions.

I think muirkirk and craigmark are the only two Ayrshire grounds I have never been to, as you say give us loads of different and interesting wee junior grounds as opposed to these new synthetic places with a fence round it that's becoming more and more prominent .

You might've missed out on craigmark cos I think they've had a new astro built though I'm not sure if the juniors are using it.

Anytime you fancy coming down to Muirkirk just let me or Geordie know and we'll get some hospitality sorted for you. You ac even bring muggo if you both promise to behave.

Big J is still involved with raising sponsorship which is always welcome but he runs an electrical business in Cumnock which takes up a lot of his time nowadays.

Could be wrong Deeney but Muirkirk have a cracking record against Darvel in the opening fixture, pretty sure Kirk pumped Darvel 1st game when George was gaffer there 3-1, Joe Flanagan double on the day ;o)

Geordie can't remember this game ???? so I'll need to rely on your pretty precise knowledge on this game. I'm guessing that must be about 6 years ago. Let's hope the trend continues though it'll be hard, Darvel were a good side last year and I like the signings they've made this year. I know Neil and Paddy will play their chances down but they're 2nd favourites for a good reason.

Cheers mate and if Beith have no game then I can head down sometime .

I can bring muggo but you might struggle to get rid of us if the drink is going down too good . :)
