Stranraer V Stenhousemuir

Recommended Posts

Just a quickie for Stenny fans. Womens British Open is on at Turnberry this week so there may be a lot more traffic on the A77 than normal, so give yourselves extra time to get down. The queue on the Ayr bypass between Holmston and Kincaidston roundabouts was mad this morning.

And with the extra traffic for the Stranraer v Stenny game it could be total gridlock.

Doesn't bear thinking about.

How did this game go? Did we look any decent?

Stranraer on paper from midfield to front look very formidable despite who they have lost.

No, you were shite.

From our bogey team to our bitches in one easy movement.

Your only real chance ended up with the ball in the net but flagged for offside.

We looked Ok but a bit shaky at the back, especially Keenan who looks a bombscare.

Of the new boys McGuigan looked the best, although Stirling was also good but isn't really new.

Interesting as Keenan was arguably our best performer at Palmerston last week.

I thought he was superb today as well and understanding with Scotty Rumsby will grow, yes will get caught out now and again but great to have a centre half who likes to play football and had two of the best passes of the day.

Good in the air--granted.

On the ground it looked like his boot laces were tied together.

Be fair to guy. Young man with little experience of senior football. Our centre backs age combined will be less than some players in this league. With game time his awareness will improve. Big strong boy!

It was an even game but despite having most of the possession in the 2nd half we never threatened.

Stirling was our best player so it was a blow when he went off injured. We look a stronger unit than last year but nothing special. Same could be said for Stranraer although they carry more of a threat up front than we do. Early days.

Agree Stirling was your best player, why we let him go is a mystery to me.

Thought you were a poorer team than last year, but as you say, early days.
