Falkirk v Shire

Recommended Posts

As far as Falkirk are concerned they won't be playing at the GREEN, GREEN GRASS OF HOME as the Falkirk Stadium is being prepped for Sir Tom Jones. I just wonder if that might give us a slight outside chance, maybe?

A few injury concerns at the back which is hardly ideal, with the addition of conceading sloppy goals v Stenny in the Challenge Cup at the w/e.

However, we are capable of scoring goals. So what may give us another slight outside chance is we are getting them early doors (providing we don't have a horror show like last season) and David McKenna can STRIKE LIKE THUNDERBALL on his day. Also, Falkirk goalkeepers seem to enjoy spilling shots in cup-ties so you never know...

I admire your confidence considering what happened a year ago when we played you at your new spiritual home.

Whilst I have the attention of a Shire fan can you maybe tell me what Shires long term own ground plans are?

Well I did say that we had a horror show last season. Also, I use the phrase 'slight outside chance' more than once. Can't say that I'm as confident as you're making me out to be...

Little Kerse is an alleged plan in the pipeline. Rumour also states that we need to sell the Firs Park site first of all.

In other words, I don't know...

Bit touchy.

I was only saying confident because I expected Shire fans to be doing the whole keep it under 3 and I will be happy chat.

Do Shire fans hate us as much as Stenny fans?

I'd like us to experiment with a 3-5-2 formation, we have an abundance of centre halves, centre mids, so 3-5-2 would put them to use. It would also.give us width which we missed on Saturday.

It would be the only thing that would spark my positivity about going to Clyde on Friday, if we start with Smith on Friday, I'm not convinced we will see a similar performance to that of Saturday's I think he has had one decent game when started, his best performances have been from the bench

Who would play right back/right wing?

Not taiwo or smith that's for sure.

Would like to see Muirhead Watson and Grant as the 3 centre halves but don't think that's in Housties plan.

Rodgers

Muirhead

Watson

Grant

Leahy

Smith

Taiwo

Vaulks

Sibbald

Mchugh

Baird

I think we'll be 4-4-2:

Barnard

Kinnaird

Donaldson

Greene

Shepherd

McCabe

Curruthers

Faulds

Wallace

Kay

McKenna

Carruthers I believe was signed mainly for the development team, but after Saturday he deserves to be in the first team and I hope he gets another chance.

It's at the back where my concerns lie. Bolo is off to Clyde after an alleged tiff with the gaffer, Ross Gilmour and Chris Townsley are on the treatment table already and we have Jordan Tapping who everyone saw had potential and an easy starter, loaned out to a juinior side now off to Sauchie permanently. Well, almost everyone...

Smith leahy

Taiwo vaulks

Sibbald

Mchugh baird

shire will probably play one up top, so we are gonna have 3 centre halves in defence and leahy and its easily reverted if its not working, Id prefer Vaulks back in centre defence but feel we would need his energy in midfield.

I'll guess tho we will add Smith to line up from Saturday and that will be about it

I think Tully will stay with the 5-3-2 formation, and chuck his brother in for Townsley.

Hope I'm wrong however.

We have 4 center halves signed up which is enough if you're playing 4 at the back, but it doesn't look like we are. Still a long way to go in the transfer window and I reckon we've got another 2 or 3 signings to go so im not worried, yet. But plenty of signings are being made for the Development team and I reckon we a good few of them will be used as first team back up, which is a good thing. Our best performers so far are teenagers or in their early 20s. Reece Donaldson, Connor Greene and Kinnaird being the obvious ones going by pre-season.
