East Fife v Dumbarton

Recommended Posts

Long time no see, lads.

The last time I was at New Bayview this man scored 4

Tremendous day that! Similar result this weekend would be grand.

Would imagine we'd lineup the same as we did at Cappielow, although we could switch to 4-4-2 with Craig (assuming clearance is through), but I don't know who I'd leave out as the midfielder were exceptional:

Brown

Taggart Buchanan Barr Waters

Gibson Gallagher Routledge Lindsay Cawley

Fleming

Subs: Ewings (GK), Docherty, #666, Craig, McCallum, Smith, Kirkpatrick

Take it Kev Smith being suspended will be a blow to you guys? Wasn't great with us, but seemed to be getting lavished with praise from Falkirk and Raith fans. Glad to see him doing well for himself.

Any other ex-Sons in the squad?

Really looking forward to this, we played fantastic against Falkirk and looking to Try cause an upset.

Kev Smith will be a massive loss, he has been super pre season and was brilliant against Falkirk.

I'd guess

Goodfellow

Mcgregor O'Kane Page Mercer

Brown Wilkie Walker Mullen Murray

Austin

I would like to see Slattery start though maybe over Mullen

Another challenge from a championship team next weekend. We have more than held our own against Raith Rovers and Falkirk in the last 2 weeks. As said Kevin Smith has looked good so far this season and will be a big miss. Probably have to change shape and have a more defensive midfield. Good result for Dumbarton yesterday so don't expect anything other than another hard game. After the absolute rubbish we have had to watch the last 3 seasons I am pretty excited about the season ahead. Would be great to get a cup run but would rather hit the ground running in the league. Just good to look forward to match days again roll on Saturday.

Is That David Winters with Prunts? Also looks like Ryan Borris on the bench... amazing how much things have changed since those times.

Aye it is. That's Martin Mcbride in the full kit on the bench. Scored a belter for the first that day.

From memory the team was:

Ewings

Lyden

Nugent

Mcniff

Creaney

Mcbride

Agnew

Nicol

Gilhaney

Prunty

Walker

Subs were IIRC Keiran Brannan, David Winters and Graeme Ramage. Could be wrong though.

Missed that game and was pretty gutted at the time. Was great though as I'm sure there was sons tv highlights. Didn't Mcbride leave and go back to Queens Park?? (I think) after this game or play one more then go back as he wasn't settled?

Aye he left the club, first of all on loan a few weeks later. Before permanently joining QP again in January.

Shame as I thought he could've been a decent player in that pretty excellent squad.

Crazy when you look at that team, it's pretty much the squad we were promoted to the Championship with. Then look at the difference in quality to the current squad and we've come a very, very long way.

I don't think anyone deserves to be dropped from Saturday. Agree with Darren, hopefully Craig is available and we can get him game time in the second half but start the same team that beat Morton.

  • That 6-0 game was only 4 days after we had beaten Dunfermline 2-1 in the League Cup when they were still in the Premier League. Don't think I've ever gone to a game more in anticipation then been left totally deflated by half time!

Looking forward to East Fife game although am still suffering from extreme trauma after the great cappielow toilet scandal.are there toilets in methil? Mind you still remember going to Scotland games at old Hamden in the seventies when crowds were in excess of100000. It was impossible to reach the toilets through the crowds so everyone just urinated where they stood. At the end of the game the terracings were covered in streams of urine. Happy days. Meanwhile back at the East fife game. If we win this we could be in the second round of two competitions for the first time in the same season since Henry the eighth was on the throne.
