Odds were out July 31st last season.

The compilers may have a tricky one this time round in pricing up Linlithgow Rose in the East Superleague.

Linlithgow are always major players, who would normally take up a decent percentage of any league book, however (at this point) there is just no knowing what sort of team they are going to produce come Aug 8th.

How do you put a price on that?

They'll play safe. If they offer big odds then money will come as lithgae are a big side and worth a gamble. The reality is that think they'll be a bit short but no way the bookies will want their fingers burnt. What odds were kelty last year at this stage?

LAST YEAR at this stage it was:-

Linlithgow Rose 2/1

Boness United 3/1

Bonnyrigg and Newtongrange both 7/1

and way behind...........Kelty Hearts 33/1

Kelty were 33/1 - 25/1, thought a decent team could be forged from our squad last season, had us down for a top 4 or 5 finish at that point which in itself would have been a huge improvement from the relegation play-off the previous season.

This time last year the Bo`ness & Lithgie squads were large & full of quality so it was difficult to see past them from a betting perspective, had Sauchie also 33/1 down as the (value) team to finish 3rd having won the EOS Cup the previous season, though a couple of teams priced at shorter odds Bonnyrigg - Nitten - meant the race for the 3rd spot was always going to be tight.

Sauchie did well to eventually finish 5th so did fine after a really poor start to their season.

Think the premier in the East is a hard one to sort out also, Lochee United will be worth a bet, also Edinburgh Utd. Have they signed a few players,

The North league will be hard fought with Glenrothes Kinoull Noth End and Downfield all in contention

Not sure If Dundonald Bluebell have any of their long term injuries back from from last season?

They did really well in the league & cups despite playing nearly all of last term without influential players.

This term they have brought in striker Scott Lawrie from Kelty Hearts as part of the Murray Carstairs deal, Scott is a genuine Superleague player when fit, also signed ex Cowden & H.O.B striker Ben Anthony.

Not sure if they have added any more? may get a chance to see how the Bluebell are shaping up in their tournament next weekend & take it from there, certainly give them a shout.

Dundonald are a decent side. I thought that Jeanfield were really good against Bo'ness last season when the sides met, a talented young side. If they can keep their squad together they should contend.

I was impressed with Dundonald yesterday. Friendlies count for little but they look like they've got a bit of football about them so if they have the energy to match when the fur flies then they could do well.
