HibeeJibee
Hadn't seen this announced anywhere not even on their own website, but Hartpury... winners of the British Championships... must have declined the opportunity to enter the Football Tournament of the European Universities Sports Championships. Fear not, however - bold Stirling must have gone forth as runners-up in their stead to the tournament in Osijek, Croatia which starts tomorrow. Their groupstage schedule is: Wednesday 22nd July - 10am - Osijek (Croatia) Thursday 23rd July - 6pm - Jyvaskyla (Finland) Friday 24th July - 6pm - Gdansk (Poland) There seem to be 14 entrants in total divided into 2 groups of 4 and 2 groups of 3, with knockout ties (presumably QFs > SFs > Final and placing matches) following from Sunday to Tuesday. Impossible to predict how they will get on but hopefully they've got a chance of progressing. Good luck to Stirling flying the flag for Britain in this prestigious competition. That is some pre-season tour eh? We beat Falkirk tonight in our run up to our opening fixture against the Stoodents. Good luck to them in Croatia.
