After getting bored of the Burntisland/Hibs/Fulham save I've decided to document my progress through the leagues the database created by AsimButtsHitsASix after having a wee test game of it first.

After using the random generator until it stopped on a Sixth Division side and it came up with this mob:

post-20092-0-39392500-1436979245_thumb.j

but I'm going to follow the route of many lower league Scottish managers who jump ship at the first available opportunity and loads of them leave you thinking "How the hell is he still getting jobs?" The likes of Dick Campbell/John Coughlin/Davie Irons etc. after most of them having a pretty nondescript playing career, so I have set my rep to having done nothing of a playing nature but having the highest coaching badge.

Halfway point in my first season. Doing all right, couple of decent cup runs with respectable defeats to Premier sides.

Liam Hutchison has been an absolute beast for me up front.

As predicted the league was a procession for the most part. The board have decided to move from amateur to part time and they have managed to get me to stay... for now... they have also pissed me off by refusing to relay our awful pitch.

Into the 2nd season and it started off with an extra time win in the Highland and Islands Cup away to Muir of Ord, the league campaign also began with an away win this time away to Cowie Thistle by 3 goals to 0. Arbroath HSFP were then beaten 3-1 and then the first home competitive match of the season ended in a 1-1 draw with Holm who won the Sixth Division play-off last season. Bank Street Athletic were then defeated 3-2 before Kirkwal Thornfinn were put to the sword in the 2nd round of the Cup and we finish the first month of the season with all expectations intact.

A lot of players left for other sides, pretty much nearly all the players I wanted to keep as well. So, the playing squad has had to go under a wee bit of an overhaul.

The match against Portgordon Vics was rage inducing for 47 minutes as we went 3-0 down but despite going down to 10 men after Darren Wilson's red card, Lewis MacKinnon inspired a comeback and we won 4-3. That was followed up by a 2-0 win over Muir of Ord and a 1-1 draw with Invergordon. We then beat Arbroath Harp and Buckie Rovers before another win, this time against Embo.

7 points clear and still undefeated, not bad but seem to be over reliant on 14 year old kids which seems a bit BEASTly.

October was another procession results wise winning 6 out of 7 games and drawing the other (the board were none too pleased I rested a good number of players in that one but I had an eye on the Scottish Cup game. Another notable event was me asking the board to invest in the youth facilities, and they refused so I leaked it to the press. They have now decided to invest in the youth facilities.

11 points clear at this point, it would take a colossal f**k up not to win the league even at this point. I also tied up some of my better players who had amateur contracts onto part time ones.

Your ground is one of the identikit stadiums I had to make at the start (that team don't have a stadium in game) surprised the pitch has deteriorated so quickly. Shoulda went Gairloch-Aultbea. They've got a gravel pitch.

I kinda thought that given that the seats behind the goal are yellow and Melvich play in blue

They've now agreed to relay the pitch...

at the end of the season.

November started with us getting knocked out of the Highlands and Islands Cup by Invergordon SC, a competition I wanted to do far better in and the players took a bit of a huff at the hairdryer treatment. 4 wins out of 4 in the League though although the penchant for giving away penalties nearly cost us against Buchanhaven. Gap up to 19 points after that win.

Deveronvale knocked us out the Scottish Cup which wasn't too disappointing as we'd played quite well and realistically it was good to avoid a thumping. We remain undefeated in the league although the draw with Holm was annoying after being 2-0 up but then we were down to 10 men for most of the game.

That draw means that the lead at the top is now 18 points.

Squad is a bit thin just now. There will be some signings to fill it out during transfer window.

We defeated Bank Street Athletic 3-0 but then the job offers came in, so I attended one with Darvel and was offered the position but a more intriguing position was up for grabs so I attended that interview and took that job when it was offered with the promise of the training facilities being improved. The bad news is that I have 3 signed players, going to raid Melvich in the short term.

So, who has my managerial services now?

The board expect to finish in the play-off positions and I imagine it shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

I just whizzed through the league season. It wasn't great tbh, winning 2 games between taking over and the end of the season. Luckily the work done beforehand meant that we sneaked into the play-offs.

The play-off went the way of pretty much the same as most of my Fauldhouse result with Easthouses getting a comfortable 3-1 win so it's the 3rd Division again for United. My future is under threat after being called to a meeting and I told the board the players were to blame but they weren't having it and were disappointed I refused to take any responsibility.

I used to always put myself in as a player with huge potential and one rating of 20 to see how good I got. I'm too old for that now. So I put myself in as a player/non-player and see if I can do better than the ingame me.

In my game computer me is sitting mid-table in 1st Division North as manager of Stirling Uni and I'm sitting midtable in the 2nd division with Broxburn.

The new season began with a home tie against Hibs in the Lothian Cup. Knew we had no chance but a respectable performance kept it down to 3-0. The league campaign began in Dunfermline away to Steelend and we beat the dead club 4-0. A 2-1 home win against Craigmark was next and I thought we'd blown it conceding a late equaliser but Dean Carse nipping in at the back restored the lead. Remnants of last season were visible against Thorniewood though and a poor performance ended with a 3-1 defeat.

The players I've brought in since I joined and those who were told to hit the bricks:

Only 3 games in but more performances like Steelend and less like Thorniewood, we should win the league here, unless I bugger off.. and I might.

September started with a 2-1 win against Redbrae, we were then defeated 1-0 away to Petershill in a televised game where we did everything but put the ball in the net. A change to formation from 4231 wide to 442 brought a 1-0 win over St. Roch's before a 1-1 draw away to Stirling Boys Club. A vast improvement brought about a 5-2 win in Sauchie before our first Scottish Cup of the season which was a return to Stirling to play the Uni and they were beaten 2-1 with us having to finish the game with 9 men due to Gregor Watson losing the head and Steven Ellis going off injured.

5 points off the top, if we get some consistency going we might put in a decent challenge. The board have been oddly supportive, new training facilities will be ready in January, while new youth ones are in planning. Team spirit is still lacking and that could be my undoing.

October started with two thumping victories beating Lochore 5-0 and Tranent 4-0. We then drew 2-2 at Blantyre Vics.

The morning we were due to play Irvine Vics this happened...

Bunch of fucking cry babies. Right pisser getting sacked sitting 2nd.

After being out of the game for almost a couple of months I applied for the position at Irvine Vics out of pure spite and got it. They only expect mid table so not too much pressure.

It's quite possibly a marriage of convenience but if we deny Fauldhouse the title then...
