If a player signs a contract and the club fails to pay wages which are stated on the player's contract is this classed as a breach of the contract if that is the case can the player ask for that contract to be terminated or do the have to go through sjfa dnt know the ins and outs of junior football always been youth football so if someone could enlighten me would be much appreciated

Best to speak to club first to get things sorted, if that doesn't work then speak to sjfa- it isn't a quick process though if your thinking of getting out of your contract and can get messy and complicated if involving sjfa

I done it once, I contacted the Sjfa to try get my contract cancelled as I wanted away and club was asking for silly money. I hadn't received any of my wages so brought that up with Sjfa who just said to me that they would contact the club, asking them to pay what was due and then contract would carry on as normal, if they refused to pay it then my contract could've been cancelled, but they do give the club a week or 2 to square you up.

If the player is showing up to training and games then should still be getting paid, if the club doesn't pay then they are in the wrong. If the player is not showing at training or games he doesn't get paid and the team can hold his registration until they receive the fee they want for the player, players expect to be paid then when they want released expect teams just to let them walk for nothing even tho they have been paid wages , clubs try to gain some £ back

Junior been at training and games and not been payed problem I've got I thought I was signing an amatuer contract not a pro contract just found out that out today

So that's why I didn't know I was getting wages until I contacted sjfa to find out if I was free

Well put it that way to the club.

Either you have been "missold" a contract, or you have been screwed over.

Ask for a copy of your contract (Which you cant have read) showing your terms and conditions.

How long is said contract still got to run ?

You should be at pre season training if still in contract.

If you are not then you are also in breach.

As Superbigal says you need to get a copy of your pro contract to see what the terms of payment are if any. If you thought you were signing an amatuer form ( same form just a tick box for either pro or amatuer!) Then it may be they haven't added what wages you will be getting, if this is the case then there will be no breach of contract !!! Something similar happened to me as an 18 year old signing my first pro form at Falkirk. We agreed wages and expenses but I signed the form not ensuring all details were on it and when I challenged the club on my first wage they denied the agreement we had . on receiving my contract I noted what we had agreed wasn't on it. The SFA stated there was nothing they could do as the contract I had was final, very hard lesson for me!!

Like me you may have to grin and bear it until the end of your contract!

Speak to the club president and attempt to resolve the matter in private and let them know your feelings. If this doesn't resolve the matter then make it known who the club is.

he wouldn't need to go to pre season training as he isn't get paid for that.. well I don't think most teams pay for that.
