Stars and stripes? I know it's 4th July weekend, but, c'mon man! 2. The crowd are even more pointlessly frenzied than usual, screaming for everything. 3. Altidore can't even score a penalty 4. Commentary would lead you to believe the yanks are demolishing Guatemala, yeas they've had a lot of attacks but the only attempt on target was a missed pen (see above) and they,re only ahead because of an own goal. But still, it's independence weekend, it's the USMNT, the USWNT are in a final, Ra! Ra! fuckin' Ra! ETA: TBF their are a lot of things I love about this country, but they can be jingoistic, patronizing and insular knobstains when it comes to sports. Added incentive of last two spots for next years copa centenario up for grabs, mon the cannucks who may well be the lowest ranked team and host gold cup game for the first time. Tbf, I don't think many over here know what the gold cup is never mind the fact that we're joint hosting it.
