What's the format ?

Play each other once: yesterday, midweek, and finishes next Saturday.

Top 2 in each section qualify for the League Cup where the QL section winners are at home to runners-up.

It seems to be drawn all the way this season like a World Cup or Euros... so Section A clubs play section B in QFs, then the first & third and second & fourth quarterfinalists meet in SFs, so clubs from the same QL section can't meet until the League Cup Final.

Some transformation from Hawick RA.

Peebles may have had a weakened side today, but Hawick were like night and day from last season.

I take it from what i read Hawick where poor last season, i wasn't at the game at the weekend however i will be at as many games as possible this season, hopefully a better season ahead.

Few changes in the Hawick team this evening from Saturday but the main weakness I see in the team is the lack of an out & out striker. If Hawick had a player like the Craigroyston centre forward then i'm sure the result would have been different. They're not working the opposing teams goalkeeper enough and tonight with a strong wind at their backs in the first half failed to take advantage of this.

Albert won a penalty early in the second half which resulted in Craigroyston being reduced to ten men. The spot kick was brilliantly saved by the goalie. Although going a goal up later in the second half, Hawick failed to take advantage of the extra man and paid the price. Two goals sealed the victory for Craigroyston although Hawick should've equalised near the end when a shot from 8 yards out hit the outside of the post. I hope Hawick try to reduce the high ball up the park too as all to often it resulted in losing possession.

Early days yet for Hawick but the improvement in fitness levels with this squad is there for everyone to see. They're getting there though and as the old saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day.

I agree with your assessment of the game last night and i also think they will get better when they get to know each other more and understand how the management team want them to play.

This was my sons first full game due to work commitments and having missed some pre season as he was on holiday and i thought he slotted in well.

Hawick should have won the game fairly comfortably going on the possession and the amount of clear cut chances they had, if the penalty had gone in i think it would have turned out differently.

Too many long shots off target and not taking the easy opportunities when they arrive let them down, however speaking to some of the young lads in the stand who have watched Hawick for some time said the team is like night and day compared to the last few seasons.

Speaking to one of the coaches from Craigroyston he agreed with me the winning goal was at least 3 yards off side which was disappointing, but if Hawick had taken there chances this would not have been an issue.

Its fair to say its a very young side however i think the future is looking good and given time they will be a good side, where they will finish in the league who knows but i am sure it will be better than recent seasons.

The EOS unpredictability strikes again

kelso drew with stirling reserves but get gubbed by Duns who were themselves beat 7-2

burntisland drew 1-1 with eyemouth and beat Civil 3-2 tonight who beat tynecastle on sat and tynie gubbed eyemouth 5-0

will be interesting next few weeks to see how the scores go.

tynie can you elaborate on the 7-2 loss? where you missing all your best players or what excuse you going to come up with??
