This seasons ADL lineup looks like it could be really close, with at least half a dozen teams probably fancying their chances of promotion. Could be too early to say, without seeing who everybody signs, but i can't really see any teams running away with it next season.

Whitletts and Darvel came up short last season and will be aiming for better this season.

I'd expect Girvan to improve under Peter Leanord.

The two relegated teams should be in the mix, if they keep hold of the majority of their squads.

Annbank, Kello and Craigmark all have new managers and will be looking to improve on last seasons standings. Big Jonny will definitely have Annbank playing decent fitba, but probably depends on who he can bring in to see if they can challenge for promotion.

Saltcoats under Derek Frye showed this season that on their day, they are a match for most and will also be looking to finish higher next season.

Lugar im not sure about, but i did hear that they have an agreement with Ayr Utd to get youngsters in and an Ayr coach in to manage them.

Dalry last season looked like they had the makings of a decent young team, so if they keep them together, they are always capable of a shock.

All in all, it looks like it could be an exciting league to be a part of next season. It would be good if we could keep this thread running through the season, and find out what other ADL supporters thoughts are.

I fancy Whitletts to win the league and between Vics, Ardeer and Girvan for second. Fancy Girvan if Vics and Ardeer lose too many players to Ardrossan Winton Rovers etc

If darvel keep most of that squad and add a couple of players they will be very hard to beat

Agree with most of this - Girvan, Whitletts, Darvel for me in top 3. Saltcoats will be decent but may struggle in the winter months. Dalry and Kello dark horses.

Irvine Vics and Ardeer may, as another poster mentioned, may require rebuilding.

Vics beat Maybole and Rutherglen home and away, only lost to the two promoted teams by a single goal on the four occasions they played them... So far only Bobby Colligan has left

Write them off at your peril

From the rumours flying around that Girvan are signing 5/6 Maybole players I'd expect them to start as favourites for the ADL given there current experience of playing in Super 1st for 3 years and challenging for promotion last 2 years.

I hope we can keep our current squad and add a few more experienced heads as this is our chance to really go for it this season.

Mon the Vic's!

All the makings of a close run league this year with no obvious super high budgets like in recent years such as Troon couple years bk and winton last year (just examples might have bn more).

Are whittlets losing any players and have any new players signed?

My 2 would be Irvine Vics & Whitletts, maybe Darvel if they strengthen at back and up front, thier midfield is ok, as for the rest they require a lot of improvement before they challenge, they might create shocks here and there but defo 3 mentioned to be fighting it out

Still early days for us just now I think and I hope Rikki is working hard to add a few more experienced heads to get us up this year. Saying that I hope we don't lose Balfour or any of the others as we need a good squad if we've to challenge.

Colligan never struggled in Super 1st, his defence did, as for him and Tony Balfour both could easly play in super first and with Balfour he can play at higher level but is wasted in ADL at Whitletts and has been for a few seasons

Colligan was usually a sub when I watched Irvine Vics this year, although most fans I was standing with seemed to want him to start.

Balfour was an absolute standout for Craigmark a few years ago, only seen him for Whitletts against Ardeer since but I've heard he's not been quite as impressive this year.
