Miguel Sanchez
Currently watching some footage of all this on youtube. When you see this, and Hillsborough, it's completely alien to me that things like this could happen at a football match. There's one video that shows a line of bodies lying on the ground with some police trying to cover them with a big Juventus banner. Horrible. eindhovendee
Strange that a club that rightly demanded the truth about the Hillsborough disaster has always kept so quiet about the Heysel disaster. You'd think that justice for the murders at Heysel would be every bit as seriously sought as the very righteous chase for justice for the manslaughter of the 96. Phil Neal is indeed an utter c**t of a human being.

ShawfieldAggro
The events at Heysel, like more or less everything, have been clouded by the sustained uber-leftist whataboutery of the disgusting inhabitants of that city. The Guardian article may only highlight a mere fraction of views from witnesses, but every single Liverpool/English comment in it contains the vile self-perpetuating filth they are famous for. Blaming the Belgian polis, the Italian hooligans from the previous year at Roma (the same Roma who Dundee Utd experienced a month before They did; i don't recall a revenge mission from the Utility Crew after their visit, though), and a claim that it was 'fairest' Juve won after the pre match tragedies sums them up. The 39 were murdered. Which means murderers walked, and probably are still, free. A more sinister accusation, and probably humorous laugh and a joke down Stanley Park way, is that after repeated warnings about the conduct of English clubs, and threats of a ban, the idea that the Reds could prevent the Blues from winning a European Cup of their own, after winning the 84/85 Division One title, so one last blowout was always on the cards. The Friendly Rivalry.

ShawfieldAggro
I've never heard the word 'karma' used in this context, but the reactions to it in comparison to Liverpool.fans teaching the post-Sky audience about Hillsborough are absolutely fucking horrible. That's why there's little sympathy for Them in many quarters.

AsimButtHitsASix
Just the ridiculous "black and white" nature so many folk have about this and Hillsborough is ridiculous. It wouldn't have happened if UEFA hadn't picked a proper stadium. It wouldn't have happened if the Belgian police done their job. However that's all immaterial as it wouldn't have happened if Liverpool fans never ran at a bunch of Italian fans to kick it off.Likewise Hillsborough It wouldn't have happened if the FA picked a proper stadium. It wouldn't have happened if the South Yorkshire police done their job. However that's all immaterial as it wouldn't have happened if Liverpool fans never rushed to get in many of whom never had tickets. The fact that it's Liverpool FC is neither here nor there. Could have been any of a dozen English clubs who woulda been the same in that situation or even the national team. But the whataboutery from Liverpool fans regarding Heysel is enough to make an Old Firm fan blush. Talking about throwing Italian fans throwing stones or Belgian Police not being able to shield the Italian fans. Yeah.. that makes killing dozens of them OK then?
