saughton enclosure

it would appear Lothian and Tynecastle are to share next season ,,,,is this allowed for EOS ?

If either team aims to get into the Lowland League is it allowed there ?

As Lothian won the league again and yet again cannot move up as they have no Facilities ,,,which will prob mean losing their better players when or if will this ever be resolved ?

ps

not to mention what state will the pitch be in as its prob the worst in the league at the moment already without sharing on a permanent basis

Both clubs have undertook to maintain the facility as best as possible, but in this climate it's easier said than done. It would take substantial investment for HV to get their own facilities I would have thought...something along the lines of what Spartans have would be ideal.

Ground sharing in the LL is already done by Stirling Uni (Albion) and BSC Glasgow (Maryhill juniors) So can't see groundsharing in the LL a problem.

Biggest prob for progress is obviously a license for Saughton.

Spartans and Spartans EOS is also an example of LL/EOSL dual-use. Queen of the South and Heston Rovers do the same, SPFL/SOSL in that case. Of course within SPFL you have Stenhousemuir and East Stirlingshire sharing.

It must be quite a while since 2 EOSL clubs shared I imagine. Would it be when Spartans and Craigroyston both used City Park maybe, so what: mid-1990s? Obviously there was Civil Service Strollers and Edinburgh Athletic (or Leith Athletic as they became) until recently but that was different pitches within a shared complex.

http://m.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/home-improvements-as-lothian-thistle-aim-for-professional-set-up-1-2227285

Detailed plans including 500 seat stand along with new changing and toilets etc.

Is this plan dead in the water?

Also found document from Edinburgh Council....

I assume everything has stalled in the usual council process of having no money but still meeting and releasing stuff to make it look like they care!

Hutchison Vale possibly the best biggest and most well known club within Edinburgh and yet there EOS side havent got the facilities to join the LL? Think they should get the finger out and get it done for a club like Hutchie

Who should get the finger out? Hutchie or the council? Cos if it's the latter then there's any number of teams could then ask for the cash and be entitled to it- starting with City as the top edinburgh side bar hertz and hubz (based on the most recent league standings).

Technically they do "Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale" and hence why they wear the hutchie badge

I was using a bit of tongue in cheek but actually TECHNICALLY they don't as they ARE 2 seperate clubs/organisations if you like, but I know what you mean :)
