Could not understand why he never fitted in at Petershill following his move from St Roch. Never quite achieved a regular run of games under Scott Smith and Willie Paterson, but Davie Greig, a shrewd judge in picking up players and putting together good, footballing teams, certainly won a watch when he signed the lad.
