Fixtures now on the West Region website up to 23rd May.

There appears to be a wee error as Rob Roy are down to play Greenock at home in the league this Wednesday and next Wednesday as well. I assume the second Wednesday should be Rob Roy v Yoker ?

I think it's more likely to be Rob Roy v Yoker as Fixtures Man will want the promotion and play-off places sorted as quickly as possible, and to get the Evening Times Cup started as well.

If the fixtures are produced by a computer-generated system, then you would think the computer would flag up that Greenock are scheduled to play a 27th league match out of the maximum 26 ?

The only fixture outstanding to be scheduled is Rob Roy v Yoker, so I assume that's the game that's meant to be on Wednesday 20th instead of a second Rob Roy v Greenock match.

That would mean that all fixtures in the West Super Division One would be finished by 23rd May, a lot earlier than in previous seasons.

It was posted tongue in cheek, but the Central League Cup is now reaching farcical stages tbh.

This is one of the drawbacks of having an all weather pitch. The regular season ends much earlier than other teams.

It must be difficult keeping players ready and paying overheads for weeks waiting for one match.

Hopefully next Wednesday is supposed to be Cumbernauld v Forth.....

Cumbernauld v Petershill in R3, apparently!

Have Forth withdrawn?

And no sign of Royal Albert v Dunipace in R3 either, although neither has a midweek fixture next week

I don't think so. Dunipace v Wishaw and Royal Albert v St Roch's in the league are listed on the West Region website fixtures for this Saturday.

Posted on another thread that Forth HAVE withdrawn.

I have to agree with Peasy23 about the Central Cup reaching a farcical stage. Why should clubs like Ashfield and Forth, whose league seasons are over, be expected to extend their season to play in a competition they have no realistic chance of winning, and probably lose money in order to do so?

Agree with what you say. Will both clubs be subject to disciplinary action/fine? In any other grade of football some form of action would take place, but this is the West Region we are talking about. Tournament also has a sponsor and they are in short supply at the best of times - look how long it has taken the seniors to find a find a backer for their divisions ( 2 years).

The previous farce involving Ashfield not playing a league game against Wishaw - for whatever reason never made public - and the relisting of same opened the barn door. The points should have been awarded to Wishaw, and Ashfield held responsible for any expenses.

Yeah, we were initially down to play the Ants in our final game a week on Saturday - I was told by Ants punters at their game last night it had been moved forward to the Wednesday, and was showing on the site. This morning, it's disappeared completely. WTF?

I see the Carluke v Greenock cup game that was due to be played on the 23rd has been removed from the website anyone here able to say why?.

Yet another withdrawal?

Yet another side that cannot field a team - that's Benburb, Forth & Ashfield in the last week all said they don't have the players! When they pay their fees they agree to play all fixtures, fine them all !!! Makes Juniors look like a pub league
