To think, about 18 months ago he'd turned down a job in the Championship with Barnsley, was flying high with ICT and was linked with jobs at the likes of Middlesbrough. This may be the first time anyone has ever looked back on the glory days of almost being good enough to manage Barnsley. Don't know why they didn't try something like that back in 2012 anyway. Most of their fans travel to games; wouldn't have involved significantly more time to go down to some wee town in the North-East.
