Its sh*te how European football is so skewed towards to big nations these days. Countries like England and Spain getting direct entry to the group stages for their 5th placed team whereas our second placed team enters the first qualifying round and has to start their season a month early. The big teams don't even take this competition seriously yet they get to skip the qualification rounds.

Anyway, looking forward to hopefully seeing the Dandies abroad and will be keeping a close watch on this site for the next couple of months.

Couldn't care less about the circumstances, perhaps if Shelltick weren't so piss poor we would get more of a holiday, but honestly can't wait for more ties like Groenigan and Sociedad this summer and more euro-tears from Victim FC would be nice too (although they may have cried themselves dry after the weekend).

Bit disappointed we're in QR1, but fair play to ICT and those were the rules set out.

Enjoyed all three ties last summer, so another easy one to start would be great and hopefully we manage to go a bit further.

Any early indication of QR1 opponents? There was a list of potential teams just by the end of last season.

So let me get this right, if Celtic had won the treble we would have propelled Aberdeen into the second round of qualifiers and then St Johnstone or Dundee Utd would have taken the last European place ?

Correct.

So long as this year's QR1 opponents don't try to break our legs like Daugava Riga, I don't mind the extra round. Think it had us fitter for Groningen.

Draw will be tomorrow - I assume 13:00 CET like last time?

Being seeded means we miss a few potentially tricky ties, least of all West Ham, Rosenborg et al; but for superstitial reasons I'm worried about Skonto Riga lurking there...

Selfishly, I'd be chuffed if we drew Ferencváros or MTK Budapest as it's a four-hour journey for me to get there, but those are two of the trickier teams that we could meet.
