Well done Newton Stewart

Recommended Posts

Newton have taken some shit for this. Nobody can slate them for that no show game. For all you know there were genuine reasons. Not good to see. But at least they have kept going for remaining games which suggests exceptional circumstances for Abbey Vale game caused call offs. Wasn't that long ago most folk were praising them.

Oh come on, they knew the fixtures well in advance. If they were two points clear at the top do you think they'd have done a no show?! Don't think so. They only chucked it cause they knew Wigtown virtually had it in the bag.

I agree with Eccles! When u sign for a team at this level you make yourself available for their games/training. Granted not everyone can make it every time but you don't go from having 15/16 players every game to having 7 one week, there's no way 8 or 9 players had last minute work commitments/family commitments etc etc.

Could well be right with that comment. And I agree yeah they know the fixtures in advance but things always come up last minute if family's,work etc are involved. That's all I'm pointing out.

Aye, it certainly looks dodgy! Especially when someone declares on P&B that W&B are league winners a couple of days before some Newton Stewart players chuck it to let them win. Take it they didn't appeal the league's decision on the points deduction?

We travel to fleet star tonight and are seriously struggling for a team due to work commitments and suspensions. Tell you what though, wel be there to play the game!!

Possibly the South League are additionally to blame for this.

There were people willing to play but due to the 31st March signing rule it meant that they couldn't.

Anyway, I hope you get a puncture
