Bob A
Just wondering if there was any update on how things were going down at Lugar? After the recent publicity, have more people come forward to assist, and will they be ok for next season? Genuine question as a supporter of a rival team, but don't like to see a club with that length of history struggling.
Kennie
It's looking pretty grim at the moment. The club is still looking for some people to come forward to form a new committee. Another meeting is being arranged for Sunday 19th April at Rosebank Park, Lugar with a 12 noon start. The items on the agenda are 1) Formation of committee. 2) If there is no new committee in place - Winding up of Lugar Boswell Thistle.
Ayr Victoria
They'll need to rebuild there team as well for next year as I imagine most of the boys will go elsewhere.
clash city rocker
How many committee have Lugar lost apart from Kennie ? Could Grierson not do secretary as well as manager...hard work but it can be done. Good few Ayrshire clubs Hurlford, Ardeer, Whitletts have taken a season out and came back before, hopefully it will not come to that with Lugar but they should always retain membership. The viper
See the management team have resigned, after a pretty unsuccessful stint. What now for Lugar?
Ayr Victoria
I imagine Lugar will end up with a lot of young amateur boys playing with them next season. Similar to the Girvan scenario this year until they get things sorted off the park.
Bob A
Interesting to see if any junior club will risk taking on the departed management team. Things seem to have imploded at Darvel, Kilwinning and Lugar when they have been there, or maybe they have just been unlucky.

dmkeenan85
To blame the management team is nothing short of ludicrous. George gets a rough deal on here.
917
How can George and Kevin be held responsible for things which are quite clearly out with their control. Forgive me but when did it become a manager's role to find/appoint committee members? I have worked with George and Kevin before and can honestly say they are two of the most dedicated guys in the junior game and I'm sure they'll be back and whatever team they are next with will be lucky to have them. connolly81
Ffs the same obsessed bellends trying to blame a manager for goings on off the park out with their control! Ridiculous to blame them but just shows how pathetic and low people stoop

The viper
Facts are at the moment he has proved himself as nothing more than a capable manager at ADL level. Did well with Darvel before moving on to what he thought was a bigger club at Kilwinning where they blew the first opportunity of promotion. When they did get promoted he decided to dismantle that team and Buffs struggled badly when they went up a league. Would question his loyalty as was always chasing perceived bigger jobs when he was at Kilwinning although nobody would take the risk on him. Lugar seem to have gone backwards since he took over, although other issues may have played a part in that. It may well be down to bad luck but the facts are that the three junior teams he has managed he has left when the clubs are in turmoil behind the scenes and it may be nothing to do with him, but he is the common denominator. You constantly hear that "he never took a penny out the club" and works harder than anyone else, but really what has he achieved as a manager. I think a club like Lugar provided him the ideal opportunity to build a team and prove himself to be the manager he thinks he is.
glensmad
...When they did get promoted he decided to dismantle that team and Buffs struggled badly when they went up a league... They would have stayed up with a couple of points to spare if it hadn't been for the registration error which cost Kilwinning 19 points this time last year. The viper
He left before the end of the season. The new management team had taken over and got the results that would have kept them up.
