How can we stop this?

Recommended Posts

Woke up this morning to see that a game between Blantyre and the gow has been called off. Surely at this stage in the season, every committee are trying to get every game on as each team are going to have a back log of games? The gows game was called off last week aswell against Bellshill. Bellshill and Blantyre are both in contention of being promoted this season so why would you want to call the games off? Fair enough last week the weather wasn't great so the pitch couldn't be playable but this week, the weather hasn't been the worst. Who checks the parks, referees or committees? Looking back at the Ashfield reasoning for their game being off against wishaw, could the gow be up to something as their squad may have suspensions or injuries?

Each park should be checked by an official referee before being announced postponed by a committee? Actually thinking about it, do teams not get offered to switch the game aswell? Feel sorry for Blantyre as they have over 15 games left this season.

Fair enough the switch was offered. The Gow would have wanted it on 100% at home as obvious advantage but why would they want to switch it to give a promotion rival the home advantage at this stage of season when the Gow are going so well. Makes sense to say no to the switch just my opinion.

You misunderstand coco8 Blantyre offered to reverse the fixture as they have not played the Gow it would become their home game and they would still have to play the Gow away no advantage to Blantyre. Perhaps the team did not feel like a game today.

I did understand mate. I'm jus sayin if the Gow are on good run.. They have a home game so that's wot you'd want against a good team a challenger in the league. U would want to play them at home have advantage with a bigger chance to win... Then have the away game nearer end of season an hopefully there promotions guaranteed or almost there if that makes sense!!! Only spoke to afew the players an they where wanting it played but it's done now so forget about it till the rules change. I love blantyre as a club played there for many years an have a lot of mates there. I wanted to watch it today as had the day off work but if you where in the same position why not.. Results went there way aswell so there's 1 happy camp

Aye shit happens

there's no disrespect mate from me no chance but it's common sense if u have the chance to give your own team an advantage.. If yous didnt have 1 of the best teams in the league then aye switch it get the points. It's jus my way of thinking as I said I was looking forward to the game.... The rules have to change maybe but it is wot it is.... I'm not a player just a supporter of both teams an Rab an David know that so just think about it an put yourself in there shoes!!! Makes sense if your goin for the title.. As I said I hope yous go up

No way would we want to give any advantage to any team that is in the mix with us for promotion and I don't think we would expect it from any of the other teams either. Blantyre look a strong team this year and looks like we will be playing them 3 times close together. It is important to both teams to make the first mark and switching Saturdays game away from Craighead might have given Blantyre the edge. The Gow management and committee all wanted the game to go ahead at Craighead but the ref called the game off on Saturday morning stating that the park "was too soft".

Looks like it could be a tough run in for all in the Division but that football at this level. Always will be if we continue to play Wnter football. Always depends on who can cope with multiple games per week, suspensions, injuries, work commitments, etc, etc.

Anyway....Come on The Gow !!!!

Another one spouting pish. Just come out with what you want to say.

Btw it was the match ref that called it off in the morning and HIS reason was "too soft". Don't let the facts get in the way of your pish tho.

Tthe ref that took charge of our game on Saturday was the ref that called this game off and he said there was no chance of it being played as his feet sunk into the pitch and the mud came up to his ankles.

It's not the Gows fault Blantyre have so many games to play and are perfectly within their rights to refuse the change of fixture. Why not move on and concentrate on the game this Saturday as it's done now and no amount of complaining will change that.

Just sayin
