The U17s League ( non - elite ) can be viewed by clicking on u17s on The Ayr United Youth Academy website although its a couple of weeks out of date . Greenock Morton favourites with Ayr United still in with a chance if they can beat Morton away. Agree though very difficuilt to view these fixtures or leagues anywhere .

That's because success for clubs is how many players they manage to get into the first team, not winning age grouped leagues. Great for the boys at the time, but if none make it to the first team? What is the point.

Big Easy - I obviously agree with the measure of success being progression of young players to first team but what about the possibility that some of our Clubs don't want the Leagues published as a lack of first team players from their Academy would also be further emphasised by poor league positions ?

Some " Elite " academies maybe not so " Elite " after all ?

Football is a competitive game for " Pro Youth " footballers not to be playing in a league format up till u17s ( only introduced this season ) has been ridiculous IMO.

I am all for non - competitive , developmental football with equal game time at 7 aside , 12s , 13s , 14s maybe even 15s but come on 16 year olds need to be playing for something , maybe some within the game don't want their " results " published or highlighted as its then difficuilt to say ah but these 8 Clubs or whatever are 4 or 5 star and deserve the bulk of the funding when one or two are in the bottom realms of the League Tables ?
