My understanding is deal done. What's to beware glens mad?

Just make sure that the deal is right for Shettleston. It's not the first "groundshare" proposal in recent years that Clyde have been involved with a junior club, in fact it's not the second either.

Its going to take a lot of work (and money) to bring it up to SFL standards I would think. What about seating for season ticket holders? (a few deck chairs might suffice perhaps)

Not much parking available locally either (Do Clyde fans have cars?)

Are floodlights also not a mandatory requirement for SFL clubs also?

An awful lot of issues will need to be resolved before it can happen, don't hold your breath.

Some strange comments? I was looking for some positive reaction, all very negative. Do I detect a hint of jealousy from some? Fully aware of pitfalls but every confidence in our guys to get proper agreement in place. Big benefits possible for both clubs and social club. Fixtures can be worked around. Occasional fixture problem outweighed by pluses. Looking forward to watching a home game at town every week!

My understanding is the talks have been going on a while now... so any issues regarding finance to get the ground up to spfl standard would have surely been First on the agenda...if it was a problem then the talks would have been abandoned a long time ago...

Don't think its jealousy the town. Seems like Shettleston have got things going well both on and off the field at the moment.

Clyde come with alot of baggage, as comments above highlight. Would be a shame if that detracts from the good things Shettleston are doing. Looking forward to game v Greenock to see how much more progress has been made.

If that's aimed at me, then you're way off the mark. Clyde came knocking on our door a few years ago, as is public knowledge. I won't go into the full info of what went on, but we ended up walking away from it all as, when plans developed, things were not what they had seemed and were not what we were initially told they would be.

Clyde then went on to East Kilbride Thistle, and we had big announcements about stadiums up there. I think The Showpark was to be transformed into a 10,000 all-seater stadium by last August, if memory serves me correctly, then it was to be a stadium on the outskirts of the town etc etc. None of it has happened.

As I said, if Shettleston can make a mutually beneficial arrangement which genuinely supports both teams, then go for it. But just be careful.

You may be the landlords but would play second fiddle over fixtures - as mentioned previously their scheduled games will always take precedence over Shettleston.

The ground improvements to bring the park up to licensed status will require a lot of financial input from who the owners or tennants?

On the plus side if they bring your ground upto license status then you could apply for dual membership and entry to the SFA Cup. (although that may come at a price of having to enter the Lowland League)
