Heart of Midlothian v Queen of the South, 28/03/2015

Recommended Posts

After effortlessly dispatching the diddies from Falkirk, we again face much tougher opposition against the men from Palmerston.

Will this be the day we put the finishing touches on an utterly relentless campaign or will it all be over before then?

Either way, this match was sold out weeks ago.

Whether Hearts have it wrapped up by Saturday or not, I don't think it will have any baring on their performance against us. If they need the win then they are obviously going to be going for it hammer and tongs. If it's already won, then they are going to want to put a title winning performance on. So it's going to be a helluva tough game for Queens either way.

Would be delighted with a point. Although I really cannot see it happening. Here's hoping though!

Not taken anything from the Jambos after 3 attempts this season, games where we probably deserved to take something in at least 2 of them. I think next Saturday will be our day. Hearts 1 QOS 2.

Said it before the Falkirk game on that thread. If QoS want anything out this game they better come prepared to score at least 2 or 3 goals. Hearts are creating a ridiculous number of chances at the moment and are scoring from all over the place. When Keatings, Nicholson and El Hass are sat on the bench chomping at the bit to get involved you know our options are unreal for this level. Even if QoS bring their A game they will never keep us out. Remarkably Dumbarton are the only team to have kept a clean sheet against us in 29 matches and we now need just 16 from 7 to bring up the ton.

I'm gonna jinx us and say people overestimate Queens, we've beaten them comfortably three times and can't see it changing this week.

This is the cold hard reality. We have played fairly well against you in spells and probably can feel hard done to that the aggregate scoreline is so high. It tells it's own story though about how easily you have swatted away the opposition this season.

We won't bend over and take a shafting, that much I can guarantee. Hearts will win comfortably in the end up though I'd imagine. We blew our best chance of taking points from you in the last game at Palmerston.

The latest game at Palmerston cannot by any stretch of the imagination, be described as a comfortable Hearts win - that's just silly.

The other two, though tight for spells, were indeed won by comfortable margins. They didn't involve grave injustice - they merely illustrated Hearts' capacity to overcome sides at this level.

The recent game here was not like that though.

The last game was slightly different as we didnt win it till the end, Hearts were always in control though and I never felt we were going to lose. It was probably the poorest Queens have played against us aswell.

I didn't claim I felt you were going to lose, although it was obviously a possibility when you trailed.

It certainly wasn't a "comfortable" win as you absurdly claimed though. There was little between the sides and a draw looked very likely until a late freaky deflection won the game.

You weren't always in control and did not win the game comfortably. Just admit that in terms of that game, you were spouting nonsense.

I thought that was your poorest performance against us. In the others you had spells where you were in charge...that game the 2nd half was just us attacking for 40 minutes until we scored.

It was our poorest performance against you. It was also your poorest performance against us. It probably should have been a draw. You had a lot of possession second half but it was pretty much all sideways. Our keeper didnt have a save to make until beaten by a late Zeefuik mis-hit that took two deflections on its way in.

Wouldn't actually disagree.

You had most of the ball in the second half and were probing away. It's not as if you were constantly knocking at the door though. It was not one of those games where woodwork was being rattled, our 'keeper was having a blinder and there were goal line clearances.

The breakthrough appeared not to be coming and when it did, it was flukey and late. The consensus at the time was that Hearts shaded it, but that a draw would not have been an injustice.

My only objection was to the claim that it was a comfortable win for Hearts. As even its author now concedes, this was nonsense.
