Midweek fixtures, 3-4th March

Morton could be set to field all three of our attacking trio of MacDonald, Caldwell and McManus for the first time tomorrow evening against Stirling; The three attackers have contributed ten goals and eight assists in twelve combined appearances this year. Stirling have by far the worst defensive record in the league which is not surprising considering the mediocre, League Two dreck they have in their backline.

If Stirling pack players behind the ball and hit on the break then it could still go wrong, but an early goal for Morton and I'd fully expect the floodgates to open, with an important goal difference margin to be made up as well. I'll be on Morton -2.

Treble of Morton, Brechin and Elgin City for me tonight, pays about 5/1.

If you are greedy or brave, throw Stranraer and/or Sheffield Utd into the acca.

There's probably better bets out there but Aston Villa at 19/10 is interesting. Villa absolutely can't afford to lose, whilst west brom definitely can. Anichebe still out for West Brom and doubts over Berahinho.

Sherwood to get his first win. Small stake on Aston Villa 1-0 @ 13/2.

To balance that, Vlaar is a doubt for Villa. They've lost 65% of games he's missed since the start of last season.

Cant imagine their win % makes for much better reading with Vlaar in the team either.

£1 returns £8.48

I have also put £1 on Brechin to win, so that I have a chance of regaining my £1 loss if the accumulator falls through. An exciting night beckons.
