Browser Problems with Good Internet Connection

Recommended Posts

Been having problems with browsers not loading pages even though internet connection was good on other devices and showing as a strong connection on laptop.

Tried a few solutions online which has had some sort of success but I'm still having problems. Can anyone with some knowledge and patience help me out with this before I launch my laptop across the living room please?

I had similar problems, it eventually got to the stage nothing would load at all.

So what i ended up having to do was restoring it to factory settings.

it worked and not had problems since.

Stored all my files etc on a hard drive, so i wouldn't lose them, and began the process. You have to download all your software again which is a pain, but as you have done, i looked for other solutions but got no success.

hope this helps :)

I had that problem where nothing loaded then used the link below thats made a big difference. Really dont fancy doing a factory reset tbh. Quite a common problem apparently.

Today's "Have you tried switching it of and on again" is " Have you tried deleting your cookies and temporary internet files and switching it off and on again". Sorts out most things.

Try this. Click start button, control panel, internet options. Click the connections tab, click Lan settings, then make sure there is no tick next to "use a proxy server"

What browser(s) are you using, and what error message are you getting when trying to load web page (i.e. 404 Not Found, or 408 Request Timeout etc.) Is it the same on multiple browsers?

Do you have another programme installed that you could use to connect to the internet that isn't browser-based? Try running an update on your Anti-Virus, or accessing the Apple Store through iTunes. Anything that can prove your computer is connecting to the Internet okay.

If we can rule out connectivity issues then it is probably an issue with your browser as you suspect.
