Hibs v Berwick

Recommended Posts

Booo. Thanks for spoiling a potentially great occasion for Edinburgh football cuntos.

Nevertheless, congrats on the cup run. A problem with us all season has been complacency - dropping silly points and lots of late goals. Even against the newer Rangers, we looked half arsed. No room for that here, with a cup semi at stake.

We surely can't f**k this up?

So this is only going to be the fifth competitive encounter between Hibernian and Berwick in history?

2011/12 Hibernian - Berwick 5-0 (League Cup)

1980/81 Berwick - Hibernian 0-0 (Division One)

1980/81 Berwick - Hibernian 0-2 (Division One)

1980/81 Hibernian - Berwick 3-0 (Division One)

Eleventh.

Missing Scottish Cup (x3)

1966-67 - Hibernian 1-0 Berwick Rangers

1979-80 - Berwick Rangers 0-0 Hibernian

1979-80 - Hibernian 1-0 Berwick Rangers

plus the EOS Shield (x4) during 1970s and early 1980s when it was still a first-team competition.

1971-72 (Nov 10th) - Hibernian 4-1 Berwick Rangers (EOSS SF)

1974-75 (Feb 15th) - Hibernian 3-0 Berwick Rangers (EOSS SF)

1977-78 (Nov 22nd 1978) - Hibernian 4-0 Berwick Rangers (EOSS SF)

1982-83 (Oct 31st 1983) - Berwick Rangers 2-2 Hibernian, 2-4p (EOSS Final)

Berwick has never beaten Hibs.

I'm glad it's on a Sunday & on me doorstep (well a couple of miles away, yes I've got a massive doorstep, arrite), looking forward to seeing what we could have done/won?

I keep meaning to try out the beers on tap at the mash tun, now I've got an excuse.

Get yourself there! I've had some nice private tweets off some Hibs Yoof telling me I'm the 'fat c**t in the White slazenger jacket' who battered kids last night and they're gonna be out looking for me! Hahaha! Better leave that jacket at home on the 8th eh.

The 1980/81 0-0 was a classic cup tie at Shielfield Park with Georgie Best playing the first half before being hooked and never seen again (he did show one incredible piece of skill, chesting the ball down twisting and sending two defenders the wrong way but he could hardly run by that time). The Ducket wall collapsed spilling wee Hibbees all over the speedway track, no-one seriously hurt but could have been a disaster. In the last few minutes, Roddy Georgeson hit a shot against the bar so hard it rebounded further than he had hit it. Alan will probably have the crowd stat. Heady days under player manager Davie White
