Question

It looks like an official Lotto site offering half price tickets, £12 worth for £6 quid. It's actually a gambling website called Lottoland based in Gibraltar who promise to pay out the same way as the official site if your numbers come up. Seeing as they're not giving any money to charity they can probably afford to sell the "tickets" at half price. It looks legit, but I wouldn't have signed up if I'd known it wasn't the official lottery. Feel a bit like I've been phished, but it might be a good deal, just a heads up.

But only 50% of Lotto money actually goes on prizes, so even if they paid no tax and had no running costs, I don't see how they could make a profit?!!?

I think the half price thing could just be an introductory offer.

P.S. Given the chance of winning the top prize is millions to one against, and they'll sell a tiny fraction of tickets compared to the official lottery, maybe they're just gambling on the numbers not coming up. They claim to be insured for big payouts.

A warning about what I thought was a deceptive and potentially dodgy ad on the forum.

Makes sense mate. I rarely see ads here as I normally access the forum from my mobile.
