Growl3th
I'll be driving up with the wife on the Saturday morning. She can then go shopping with my sister as me and her other half go to the game.

Scary Bear
Trains already booked for our crew. f**k going up there in a bus. Did you book with one of those friends and family railcards or did you just pay the standard fare? How much did it cost you?

Scary Bear
£19 return club 55 deal You must have a few years on me. I just checked and a return is £46 if you get the 9.07 or 10.10 train there. If you get the 11.10 train that gets in at 14.10 then it's a £22.60 return. The train home is the 18.46 gets in at 21.42. I recall folk saying it was cheaper if you bought certain railcards. There's also something called a Friends Fare, http://www.scotrail.co.uk/tickets/fares-and-tickets http://www.scotrail.co.uk/tickets/which-ticket-right-me I'll hold off and see what the subsidised travel offer is all about. Raithie
Did you book with one of those friends and family railcards or did you just pay the standard fare? How much did it cost you? Standard fare, 46 sheets, getting the 9:07 choochoo. Few bevvies on the way up, we'll be blazed by the time we arrive we'll already be looking at train times for the final. Word of warning for anyone looking for a booze up on trains before 10am, keep your sherbets hidden. I'm sure you're not allowed to drink on trains until after 10am. Ro Sham Bo
There is no way on earth I'd pay £46 for a trip to Inverness. Absolute rip off.

liam_barnett
Another way of getting it slightly cheaper than the £46 is splitting it Kdy to Perth (£9) & Perth to Inverness (£26.60) = £35.
Rovers_Lad
There is no way on earth I'd pay £46 for a trip to Inverness. Absolute rip off. youd be close to that on petrol if you were driving anyway as liam says its still doeable for £35-60,btw this price is for exactly the same direct train from kdy that would cost you £
Ro Sham Bo
With ICT going so well in the league it makes sense for them to rest 7 or 8 first team regulars for this match. It worked for Ross County against us a couple of years back...
liam_barnett
For any Rovers fan not on Twitter or Fantalk, details of subsidised travel to be announced by Tuesday at the latest, they've been investigating both bus & train.

HIT THE CHANNEL
That is our group booked up on the train too. We are getting the early one though, gets in at 10.30ish. I had a look at the Premiership forum but there is not any away fan info akin to the Championship forum. So Looking for some help from ICT and Rovers fans familiar with the local establishments... What are the best pubs / away friendly / where Rovers fans tend to go? Any help would be much appreciated folks! ETA cheers for the alcohol warning... we will have to get creative! Hank Scorpio
Looking at the prices of the train just there, it's madness. The 0837 from Haymarket to Inverness is £34.40 return with my rail card, but if I buy a return to Perth using the same train its £11 then Perth to Inverness return for £17.55. So I'll get on at Haymarket and stay on the same train all the way to Inverness, but it'll be cheaper because I have more than one ticket. Subsidised travel would be good, but only if it involves a train. Otherwise there'll be no drinking allowed, it'll arrive at 2pm and leave straight after the game. I see that 18.46 train is now £34. I should have booked it when I last looked. The 17.30 train is still £18.60 but that would involve a power walk to the station, so I'm not particularly interested. £46 just to get there seems a bit extreme. I think I'd better look into private buses and jut bung the driver £20 to let us drink.
