Gordopolis
Just a wee thread to watch Scotland players and potential players' movements this January. So far I've spotted: Done deals: Gary Mackay-Steven -> Celtic (from Dundee Utd, pre-contract) Lewis Macleod -> Brentford (from Rangers) Islam Feruz -> Blackpool (on loan from Chelsea) In talks: Shaun Maloney -> Chicago Fire Rumours: Stuart Armstrong -> Celtic/Sporting Lisbon Darren Fletcher -> WBA/West Ham Jordan Rhodes -> Swansea Ikechi Anya -> Celtic Charlie Mulgrew -> some championship side (can't remember who) any others on the go? ETA Feruz - how could I forget him!
Robert Pires on the Wing
Maloney to Chichago Fire would be dreadful stuff. It's a graveyard.
Gordopolis
Maloney to Chichago Fire would be dreadful stuff. It's a graveyard. Yeah, feels too early - like Jermaine Defoe going to Toronto at the same age. Must be getting offered a fair wedge though.
Shengus Khan
I don't know. If someone offered me a wedge of cash to live in Chicago I'd jump at the chance. Certainly beats playing for Wigan.
craigkillie
Maloney to Chichago Fire would be dreadful stuff. It's a graveyard. It's not that different to the Championship. Big crowds, mediocre standard.

Ira Gaines
Don't be so naive/try to be controversial. It's a much worse standard than the Championship. The Championship is overrated shite. There really isn't much of a difference there.
invergowrie arab
Tens of thousands of dollars a week to live in the states? You wouldn't see me for dust. f**k career and getting a move to Sunderland or palace.
Honest_Man#1
The Championship is overrated shite. There really isn't much of a difference there. The MLS might be Scottish Premiership standard, I'd accept that. Not too many examples I can think of off of the top of my head, but Kei Kamara came to Boro as a highly regarded 1 in 3 striker from the MLS. If he's good enough for that standard, it's dreadful, because he couldn't kick his own arse.
Honest_Man#1
Also, I've only ever wtches one MLS game to be fair, but it was supposed to be a 'big derby' between LA and Chivas and te standard was worse than Scottish Premiership imo.
Diamond Oracle
Shaun Maloney signs for Chicago Fire. Poor move IMO. Surely will affect his place in the Scotland starting 11.
1320Lichtie
Shaun Maloney signs for Chicago Fire. Poor move IMO. Surely will affect his place in the Scotland starting 11. I dunno. He's no gonna get any worse playing there. Doubt he's gonna get any better than he is regardless of where he plays. Wish I was getting thousands and thousands of dollars to live in Chicago and play football.

Wish I was getting thousands and thousands of dollars to live in Chicago and play football. How did it affect Kenny Miller playing in Vancouver? He was still picked, no? Although Maloney has been terrific lately, I suspect with players like Gauld coming into the team alongside the return of Snodgrass etc., this is probably his last qualifying campaign. The Grass Is Greener.
Good move for Shaun personally, he deserves one last good pay day.
The-coo-shed
Darren Fletcher off to West Ham according to Radio Scotland. Should be completed in the next few days.
Honest_Man#1
Strachan rates him so doubt it will affect this campaign in terms of his selection. He probably spoke to Strachan as well before the move. This would have been his last campaign anyway I would have thought, so dropping down a level but earning a big wage in a great city is too hard to turn down. paul-r-cfc
Fletcher on the brink of a move to West Brom. Had a medical and looks set to sign a 3 and a half year deal. Good move for him. He'll get game time and that contract will almost certainly see out his career if he can stay fit and healthy Also graham dorrans to Norwich and Barry Bannan to Bolton
