Can't understand why the Peasy management would want this game off at such a late hour. Surely that would only aggrieve his own players and most importantly his own fans who would already have made the journey down from Glasgow? Feel sorry for the committee men at Beith who had obviously worked so hard to get the pitch playable.

The ref should not have been influenced by anybody.Clubs have their own agendas but the ref must make his OWN decision.Sickening for the good Beith folk who put a lot of hard work into trying to get the game on...why should people give up their time when officials who get half their fee for just turning up take it and run.

An official complaint should be made to SFA, note, not SJFA, as it is they who are responsible for referee appointments.

He should have been at park long before 1-30 for a 1-45 kick-off. How was he going to inspect park, scrutinise team lines, check match balls, etc in 15 minutes? Also allowing himself to be influenced in this manner is highly unprofessional and a sign of weakness, he is not fit to be a referee if this is correct.

Will Petershill now have the cheek to claim travelling expenses for a game called off at last minute?

IN contrast to our own experience today, we could have had our game called off today with a single phone call to league secretary. It was soggy, but just playable at that time so we took the chance and the game went ahead with no problems although pretty cut up at the end.

It back fired on us as we went down 2-0 to Irvine Vics but preferred to get game played although we knew a couple of players were unfit..

Agree with Ex Player, really the beef is with the ref being allegedly swayed by a manager. Feel yer pain tho as don't know how many initial inspections we've had being okay only for the game ref to show up and say naw. Visiting team gets a few pies for the road but everything else is wasted and all our hard work getting it on is for nothing.

peasy defences are laughable. an old guy ws givin us all sors of bigotted abuse n when we reported it they sed"aw he wouldnt say that." but the guy fae the ev times heard it n told them "either u deal wae it or my paper will." but they still dun nothin. he got moved away by glesga life. people who were at the game moved away on disgust. he then went rnd the park n started shoutin abuse at the wee guys who follow us. then after the game he was blockin motors in at the car park. peasy said their fans arent bigotted n they had severely reprimanded the guy for blockin in. suppose nelson mandela was 'blocked in ' too. horrible horrible club. cant wait to read their response on this latest matter. should b as typically north korean as the response we gt

What is the guy from the roch taking about today's complaint is that the petershill manager got the the ref to call the game off is utter crap the beith manager said the ref turned up late did not give us time to spike the park and then said something about the petershill manager what I would say is why are local refs getting away with putting games on only for the match official to call it off how many teams have had this done

I do have sympathies with refs called out at 9 to judge how playable a park will be 5 hours later, especially considering this week's weather. It's a no win situation for the guy in the morning. If he puts it off they get it in the neck for not giving it a chance. If they give it the go ahead and it deteriorates only for the match ref to call if off then he also gets the blame.

However surely the ref must have turned up more than 15 minutes prior to kick off?

Today our supporters club lost again this is the second time that a game has been called off at beith after passing a morning inspection the cost that we can't get back is about £400 the players bus is covered by insurance so I cannot see why the petershill manager would want the game called off

It is a junior red that does all the local inspections & believe me if Calum thought it was in any way unplayable he would call it off. Spoke to a couple of Beith mates seperately & their versions were the exact same . Mr Paterson was desperate for some reason to get the game off & was ably assisted by the referee who was jetting of to La Manga with a few other refs at 6.30am this morning. Be surprised if we don't here more of this

Ps nothing against Peasy here. Am in the minority that think the Peasy lads are a brand new bunch . Always enjoy their visits & although a preferred the auld social club a still enjoy visiting the new place to catch up with a few of them

They are going ok at the moment but in my opinion they probably don't want to get to far ahead with games. Had they played today they would only have seven games left, they are out of the cup, and with next to no home games getting called off they could realistically be finished by the end of March with the players probably getting paid to the end of May or into June. If they done it today at such a late stage then its a poor show and like Bankies Alive said they did try the same at Holm Park a few weeks ago.

Great post & could very well be the case. The ironic thing is, that no matter how Beith's park was yesterday, it would still have been safer than that concrete Astro monstrosity that is Petershill Park!
