Nike designed a special graphic pattern with the colors white, blue, red and brown, inspired by the Chilean culture. The colors of the Chilean flag make a statement on the design of the ball, the red represents the people, the blue the Chilean sky and the white represents the Andes. In addition, a subtle hint of copper, the nation's economic engine, is woven into the design. Santiago Street art inspired the use of black and white and the overall pattern of the ball.

Are Mexico and Jamaica sending youth age group teams? I thought they usually did that for participating in this, given that the Gold Cup starts three days after this one finishes.

Mexico are sending different teams to both, as they usually do. Which generally means it'll be pretty much their backup/youth lineup, yeah. No idea about Jamaica but I'd guess they'll be rubbish either way.

Partly why I think the 2016 Copa America will be much better. Bigger tournament scheduled at a time that doesn't interfere with any CONCACAF tournaments, and thus USA, Mexico and Costa Rica will be at full strength for it.

Yeah, should most certainly be a more interesting tournament, even if it's just a way for COMNEBOL to shamelessly cash in. 'murica will certainly benefit getting to play the higher quality opposition more often than just every four years, or whenever they play Mexico. Or Costa Rica I guess now. They've raised their game for the World Cup, and the Confederations Cup a while back, so can only be good for them.

Yes, Mexico and Jamaica are the invited teams this time.

I see, I just assumed Mexico always played in it as they always seem to be there. Can't say I've noticed Jamaica in it before. Wonder how it will work when it becomes 16 teams. Would be better if North/South America was all just one confederation.

Mexico have gone to every edition since invites started, in 1993. Table of invites:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copa_Am%C3%A9rica#Invitees

Mexican clubs have also received invites into the Copa Libertadores starting 1998.

(Before that each confederation's champions contested an annual equivalent of the Intercontinental Cup, the 'Copa Interamericana').

Mexican clubs also entered the less important Copa Sudamericana between 2004 and 2008.

CONCACAF also used guests in the Gold Cup from 1996 to 2005, mainly South Americans but also South Korea and South Africa:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Gold_Cup#Participating_nations

Wonder how it will work when it becomes 16 teams. Would be better if North/South America was all just one confederation.

All the CONMEBOL countries, USA and Mexico qualified automatically for the centenary tournament. They were joined by 1 Central American qualifier (Costa Rica) and 1 Caribbean qualifier (Jamaica), using the tournaments which already act as the qualifiers for the Gold Cup.

Remaining 2 places are taken by the 2 winners of a 4-team playoff involving the 4 highest-placed teams at the Gold Cup not already qualified.

2016 looks like being a great summer of football, although very few of the concacaf teams will add much quality the format is better. Hope Canada can at least qualify but probably unlikely. I seen the other day Toronto is a host in this years gold cup but it's not certain that Canada will play there.

We're more focused on the Womens World Cup and the Pan-am Games this summer tbf

So, tv coverage?

Live-footballontv is usually very reliable and they don't have any information on any coverage for it yet - http://www.live-footballontv.com/copa-america-on-tv.html

I recall watching the 2011 edition on the William Hill website. I'm surprised that the likes of BT Sport haven't picked it up. I can't imagine the rights would cost that much and it would help fill in the schedule for a few weeks during the summer.
